The game’s second expansion pass is released in two installments, with the current version being the first and the second installment releasing at a later date. The Vale storybook introduced many new content and game features, including new Disney characters to unlock and befriendthree glorious new biomes to explore and decorate, and a wealth of new recipes, ingredients to forage, and fish to collect.
One of the novelties of The Vale storybook The expansion is the introduction of new creatures that you can befriend and collect. By discovering each of the new creatures’ favorite treats, you can earn their trust, and luckily, these creatures are relatively easy—for the most part—to approach. By developing a bond with the creatures, you can make them a companion where they travel alongside your characters throughout the valley. New creatures include miniature dragons, winged horses or pegasi, and a beloved feathered creature: owls.

Found in a certain biome
Owls are the main native creature in The Vale storybookmain biome, The Bind. There are four different variations of owls in The Bind that you can befriend: a brown owl, a purple owl, a dark owl and a light owl. Each of the different types of owls appears in The Bind at different times in different biome locations. Brown Owls appear in the Library of Lore at any time during the week.
Purple Owls appear in The Bind every day between midnight and 9am, Dark Owls appear in The Library of Lore anytime during Saturday and Sunday, and Light Owls appear in The Bind every day between 3pm and 8pm.
What to feed owls to make friends with them
What is an owl’s favorite treat?
The best way to gain an Owl’s trust The Vale storybook is for feed them any grain. This may include wheat, available in Disney Dreamlight Valley base game and very quick to grow, but an owl’s favorite treat is barley. Barley seeds can be purchased from Goofy’s shop at The Bind for $15 and also used in some barley recipes. The Vale storybook DLC.
Owls are friendly and easy to approach with food, and each type of owl takes a different amount of time to befriend.
Brown Owls and Purple Owls are the easiest, requiring just two days of friendship to unlock them as companions. Dark Owls and Light Owls take a little longer, requiring 4 days of friendship to unlock their companion.
Feeding owls in The Bind can also reward some treats in return. These rewards may include Dream Shard, Pinecones, Decals, and Memory Shards. Since owls are one of the easiest creatures to feed, you can expect to be able to collect them as companions in Disney Dreamlight Valley relatively quickly. However, given the 2-4 day period this takes, the player will make the most of their time in The Vale storybook running around and completing other tasks in the game in between owl feeding activities while waiting for the owls to trust them.
