What the VOD release of Never Let Go means for a film

Survival horror was not a hit in cinemas

Never let goReviews from critics have not been stellar, and the film currently holds a modest 57% score. Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score is even lower: just 53%, suggesting that the majority of moviegoers did not like the film.

This mixed reception is reflected in the film’s box office performance. Made with an estimated budget of $25 million. Never let go grossed just $13 million worldwide, making it a pretty significant flop.. Obviously, the movie just didn’t resonate with audiences in theaters, which is why it won’t be released digitally until two weeks later. Making the film available to watch at home could help it expand its reach, but it almost certainly won’t earn enough on that platform to make up for its theatrical losses.
