Dragon Ball Daima teased Goku’s Super Saiyan form a little in the fifth episode of the series, during a test of strength provoked by the King of the Third World Demon. Unfortunately for fans anxiously waiting to see a Super Saiyan taken down, Goku’s hair turned gold for just a split second before returning to its normal shade. However, the recently released Episode #7, titled “Lightning”, finally shows off Goku’s iconic power-up in one of the most visually stunning transformation sequences in the franchise.
Daima is without a doubt the best Dragon ball has already appeared in TV anime form, and its most recent episode only added to its growing reputation. Despite Goku’s Super Saiyan appearing in nearly every entry in the series since its debut, the series has been able to accomplish the extremely daunting task of keeping the shape fresh and exciting. And although Goku has shrunk considerably in size, fans will be pleased to see that the legendary transformation still packs a big punch.

Dragon Ball DaimaGoku’s latest episode finally pitted Goku against the ever-mysterious Glory, after a humorous encounter with a Minotaur who threatened to eat the main team for breakfast. After insulting the beast, both fighters completely ignore the threat to have their own sparring session. As Goku so often does throughout Dragon ballhe begins the fight nonchalantly before Supreme Kai asks him to give it his all and test Glorio’s strength. The transformation sequence that follows is comfortably at the top of the franchise’s besttaking a moment before Goku was fully engulfed in the familiar golden glow.

As Dragon ballAs the group’s fighters have dramatically increased in strength, their transformations can often lack the theatricality that defines them. Almost all characters with Saiyan blood can use Super Saiyan without the slightest effort at the moment Daima takes place in the general timeline of the series. While easy transformations certainly have their appeal, Goku’s latest ascension is a reminder of why the series’ power-ups are so attractive. The determined and powerful battle cry followed by the overwhelming strength of the Super Saiyan form is so thrilling in Daima as it always was.
Due in large part to the more modern animation, Goku’s first transformation is also packed with style. Instead of the change in appearance happening suddenly, Daima opts to show the Saiyan gradually assuming form, including a stunning close-up of his eye changing color behind a piece of floating debris.

Although Glorio is not much of a challenge for Goku, Daima makes it clear that he still has tight control over his Super Saiyan form. After firing what appeared to be a powerful blast of magic towards the mini Saiyan, Glorio is shocked to discover that Goku effortlessly destroyed the attack before it reached him in another impressively animated Super Saiyan sequence. By establishing that Goku’s transformation is still as powerful as ever, Daima avoid Dragon Ball GTpast mistake of having his son Goku unable to sustain his immense strength.
Given the series’ similarities to GT, fans have expressed concern about the possibility of repeating the anime’s mistakes, although it appears that one of the major ones has already been avoided. Now this Dragon Ball DaimaThe main adventure of is officially underway, new threats will certainly make themselves known to Goku and company. Dragon Ball Daima episode seven certainly won’t be the last time a Super Saiyan makes an appearance, and as long as the series manages to maintain high-quality visuals, each new transformation is sure to provide more excitement and awe.
Dragon Ball DAIMA is the fifth series overall in the action-adventure anime franchise. It features most of the classic cast members as aged versions of themselves, including Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma. The series was announced at NYCC 2023, with creator Akira Toriyama returning to manage DAIMA.
