Destiny 2: Revenant – Tonic Guide (Potion Crafting, Material Farming, and High Level Potions)

Every season Destiny 2 is unique and RevenantThe new potion crafting mechanic really brings something special to the loot hunting and sandbox game this season. Not only can you focus on seasonal weapons and armor, giving you a better chance of getting the reward you want, you can also use potions and tonics to enhance your abilities in several ways. Before you can start crafting, you’ll need to complete the season’s introductory mission, which should appear right after the character select screen.

You can create two types of toners: enriching tonics and volatile tonics. As mentioned in the Revenant roadmap thread in early October, these tonics serve several different functions depending on which recipe you choose. Volatile Tonics enhance your combat prowess, while Enrichment Tonics increase your rewards. Luckily, these tonics are quite easy to make.

How to create potions

Help Eido and she will help you

You’ll get a pretty detailed tutorial when Eido teaches you how to make tonics in his lab, so follow it after choosing a recipe and you’ll be fine. If you forget, the quest UI will appear every time you select a tonic recipe and will show you each step of the cooking process if you forget. What’s more difficult than brewing Tonics is learning new recipes.

Connected

Thanks to a handy pop-up that you’ll only see once, you’ll learn that the only way to learn new tonic recipes is to create a bunch of “related tonics.” This means that you will have to craft the Tonic multiple times, an undetermined number of times, in order to unlock its more powerful version. I ended up unlocking the powerful Stasis Crystallization Tonic after crafting the watered-down version four times, and that number likely increases as higher tier tonics are unlocked.

How to Grow Potion Material

Onslaught: Rescue Is Good, But This Mission Farm Works Best

Unlike the complex and tedious process of collecting materials for Dawn cookies, obtaining reagents for Tonics is relatively simple. All you have to do is defeat enemies throughout the system. This can be any playlist activity, story mission, or even patrol, so whatever you do will earn you crafting reagents.

If the passive reagent received from the game is not enough, you can start the seasonal task “Onslaught: Rescue”. This is the new and improved version of Onslaught. rewards you with additional reagents for every 10 waves completed. This is also a good way to get loot, which you can upgrade with enriching tonics.

If you’re tired of Onslaught and just want to grind up as many reagents as possible, complete Eido’s first major field quest, which will give you a chance to gain reagents whenever you get Restored Vitality. Then download the highlighted campaign mission for that week. “Into the depths.” Complete the mission until you pick up the Cryptogryph, then jump off the edge to get erased.

You will reload into the same arena where you should kill the Acolyte Hive and then farm the infinite amount of Thralls that spawn. In his YouTube video Esoterics used this method and received over 50 restored vitality per minute. You should end up with a lot of materials that will allow you to create as many tonics as you like.

Best High Level Potions

This will depend on your build and mining goals.

Crystal Converter perk highlighted in Destiny 2 Revenant

The set contains 26 legendary tonics. D2 this season, and their effects vary depending on whether they are enriching or unstable. Volatile Legendary Tonics are a better version of their original perk and enhance another artifact perk, making them all quite useful. Enriching Legendary Tonics allow you to more accurately determine which pieces of armor or weapons will drop, similar to how Onslaught focused on Lord Shax a few seasons ago.

It’s generally a good idea to match your active Volatile Tonic to the focus of your build. Let’s say you’re using a build based on generating stasis crystals; you’ll need Refined Stasis Crystallization Tonic active when you need that extra boost.

Exquisite Tonic of Stasis Crystallization

Destroying a stasis crystal grants you a small amount of class ability energy.

Crystal Converter, Hail the Storm

Not only will this last longer than its less rare counterparts, but it will also provide a boost to two Artifact perks rather than just one. This applies to all advanced tonics, so pay attention to your build when choosing which tonic to activate.

However, there are also exotic tonics that drop randomly. These toners do not have a prescription, and at the time of writing there is no guarantee that you will receive one. Exotic Tonics give you the opportunity to obtain either Supreme Alloy, Supreme Shard, or Exotic Cipher, all of which are exotic rarity materials that will allow you to upgrade the armor you already have or get a new exotic from Rahul.

How to get new reagents

Complete field missions and win seasonal triumphs

The four

At the beginning you will only be able to get common and rare reagents, so to get more you will need to complete field quests for Eido. You can only begin Primary Field Work once you have picked up and completed that number of secondary Field Work tasks. which are only unlocked after you have a certain number of potion recipes. It’s a bit restrictive, so you’ll have to keep brewing potions as you play to keep unlocking challenges.

The best major field quest to start with is Blood Drive, mentioned above, which provides reagents when you collect Restored Vitality. A field job that allows you to collect rarer reagents is the Head Collector, which offers a chance to receive reagents by turning in completed daily bounties, as well as reagents of higher rarity. This is currently the only way to obtain these rarer materials. Destiny 2so unlock it as quickly as possible by completing as many small field missions as possible.
