Genya harbored resentment towards his brother, resulting from seeing what he believed to be his mother’s murder at the hands of Sanemi. He harshly accused Sanemi, unaware of his mother’s transformation into a demon, and initially saw Sanemi’s tragic actions as an unforgivable betrayal, leading them down separate paths. In narutoSasuke’s resentment towards Itachi ran even deeper and became the driving force behind his motivations. Itachi Uchiha made choices motivated by a sense of duty to protect Sasuke and all of Konoha from an imminent civil war. To save the village, Itachi took on the role of villain and only spared Sasuke by massacring the Uchiha clan to prevent their rebellion. This cruel and difficult decision was made as an act of self-sacrifice meant to protect Vila Oculta da Folha and protect his brother from meeting the same fate as the rest of the clan. However, Sanemi’s toughness was fueled by protectiveness and the fear of losing Genya to the same fate as his brothers. While Itachi’s choices were made to keep Sasuke protected from afar, Sanemi’s approach involved the need to remain unfeeling and keep Genya at a distance. However, unlike Sasuke, Genya realizes that his brother’s actions are to protect him, but Sanemi’s harshness denies them the chance to be a family again. This choice leaves their bond fractured, but one step closer to reconciliation.
