Deku may be the main character of My Hero Academia, but the real hero of the series is another character

My Hero Academia The main character is Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, and the story follows his journey to become a hero. The series certainly wouldn’t be the same without Deku: his brave sacrifices, the inspiration he offers to everyone else in Class 1-A, and his selflessness when it comes to saving others. However, there is a My Hero Academy character with an even greater influence on the story than Dekuand fans often ignore him.

When I started watching My Hero Academia, I assumed Deku would be the most important character in the story. He is truly an inspirational hero and throughout the series he overcomes many obstacles, including bullying, villains trying to end his life, and problems using his Quirk. Although Deku is a motivational and central character, as I watched the later seasons, a different hero stood out to me as the most important not only to Deku’s journey, but to the story as a whole. In my opinion, All Might is the true star of My Hero Academia, and for many compelling reasons.

The most important events in history centered on All Might

All Might has a positive impact on individual characters as well as a larger impact on the entire world

All Might emerges victorious after fighting All for One, raising his fist in the air as a symbol of peace.

Although Deku is the main character, All Might has more influence on the story and significance in major plot points. My Hero Academy stated the importance of All Might in the first scenes, as he was Deku’s lifelong idol. One of All Might’s first noteworthy moments was when he allowed Deku to inherit his Quirk, directly allowing him to be a hero. All Might not only guided Deku to heroism, he is responsible for influencing so many heroes to follow in his footsteps, including all of the students in Class 1-A. Although he is Deku’s mentor, he taught all the other students as well.

One of All Might’s most notable achievements was saving Bakugo from being kidnapped by the League of Villains. This scene was memorable for me because it represents more than just a hero saving someone from danger. Not only did All Might sacrifice his powers to save Bakugo, he gave them up to protect everyone and send a message to the villains to back off. At the same time, this moment and the conversation he had with Bakugo shortly after helped Bakugo come to his senses and turn his back on the more petty and cruel aspects of his personality, becoming more of a hero.

Without All Might, Deku could not have become a hero

All Might significantly changed Deku’s life, giving him the quirk he needed to save the world

my hero academia mha all could train deku in the anime adaptation.

Deku was Quirkless at the beginning of the story, convinced he would never achieve his dream of studying at UA, and heartbroken because all he wanted in life was to be like All Might. Among all the Pro-Heroes, All Might held a special place in Deku’s heart and in society as a whole, as he was known as the Symbol of Peace who comforted citizens and ensured that they would always be protected from danger, “because I’m here.” Without All Might’s example and direct assistance, Deku’s life could have been very different and he would never have had a Quirk.

All Might passed his own One For All Quirk onto Deku, allowing him to go to UA and become a hero. Without this integral moment, Deku would have lived his life as a normal person, never achieving the incredible feats he did, and the world would be in terrible danger due to villains like Shigaraki and All For One running loose. This is just one example of All Might’s modeling My Hero Academy and helping another character reach their full potential however, because All Might offered similar support and encouragement to other students, civilians, and other heroes.

He is more than a character, All Might is a cultural symbol

Whether they love him or hate him, All Might has influenced everyone My Hero Academy Character

It’s easy to see signs of how All Might changed Deku’s circumstances, but I also noticed the positive effect he had on other students like Bakugo. Bakugo wanted to imitate All Might, telling Shigaraki and the League of Villains members who kidnapped him that he wanted to “win like All Might”. Shoto Todoroki is another student who professes sincere admiration for All Might and a desire to embody the principles he lives by. The deeper I delved into the story, the clearer it became to me that All Might was the catalyst for leading so many of these characters to become heroes.

All Might is more than just another character, he is the Symbol of Peace, a title he takes seriously. As a cultural symbol, All Might exemplifies peace and heroism everyone in the story is struggling. Without All Might, there would be no story. Deku would have no Quirk, the world would have no symbols to look at, and villains would do whatever they wanted, knowing that no hero would step in to stop them. All Might is a huge influence and most characters want to be like him in a positive way, like Deku, or in a negative way, like Dark Might.

Even after All Might’s Time as Hero ended, he continued helping others

He made sure to properly train a successor, ensuring that the world would remain safe even without him.

Overall, I would say that All Might is more of a main character than Deku because he was the one who gave Deku the tools to become a strong and confident hero. All Might is an honor to me because he fought selflessly, purely dedicated to saving others. Even after losing his powers and retiring, he didn’t give up the fight and continued to dedicate time and energy to teaching the next generation of heroes, ensuring that the world would be safe even after his death. All Might’s legacy will have an unforgettable impactand he will always be My Hero Academia true hero.
