Another tall actor could play the iconic Marvel role

There was some controversy when Hugh Jackman was first cast as Wolverine more than two decades ago due to the actor’s stature. However, this has gone away over the years. Jackman has played the character for so long and to such success that he has reframed many details that matter about the character. Although Wolverine’s height is a component of his identity, there are more important things to focus on, such as his ferocity, his invisibility, and his relationships with the rest of his Team.

There are many popular casting choices for Wolverine in the MCU, some of which are closer to his canonical height, including Daniel Radcliffe at 5ft 5in. Height is such a minor component of the character. It would be some fun to see a shorter Wolverine in the films, however, as the Easter eggs in Deadpool & Wolverine Apparently, this is mostly a gimmick. What’s more important is that Marvel casts a performer who can embody the more complex details of Wolverine to play the character in the MCU movies, regardless of height.

The end of Deadpool & Wolverine is fairly open, and it is possible that the MCU will not recast Wolverine, continuing with Jackman in the role for some time. However, at some point, another actor will certainly portray the character. When this eventually happens, it is important that the focus of the casting is not down to the height of the actor. There are far more important things to confront Wolverine after the events of Deadpool & Wolverine. The MCU will certainly be faithful to his character, if not his stature.
