In an episode of The Kristian Harloff Show (through DCU Updates), actor Sean Gunn addresses his DCU casting as Maxwell Lord. Gunn explains that his opinion on Maxwell Lord is inherently different from Pascaland mentions how James Gunn prioritizes the source material. Check out Sean Gunn's comments below:
"Your own body is the vessel for what you're doing, so obviously... no one is going to confuse the acting of Pedro Pascal and me. So obviously we're going to do something different. I think James (Gunn) is good about directing me to the relevant source material So, I think, the whole concept of the character takes a totally different turn. I've seen the movie and Pedro is obviously a great actor, but what he does in that movie isn't really relevant to anything. I'm doing."
