DC Comics is preparing to bring back Zatanna with a completely new and continuing solo series. Along with other characters like Black Lightning, the Question, the Challengers of the Unknown, and more, Zee is the latest “minor” but fan-favorite DC character to take back the spotlight in an All In-era miniseries. .
DC announced that the all-powerful magician will return in February 2025 for a six-issue miniseries, Zatannaby writer/artist Jamal Campbell and lyricist Ariana Maher. While Zatanna has appeared many times in recent years as a supporting character – especially in the Bat-Family and Justice League Dark stories – she will finally star in a continuity story of her own in the new year, with a full supporting cast to boot. .

DC isn’t too far off from recently kicking off its new All In initiative. The new initiative is designed to give fans a soft reset – not of the universe, but of DC’s creative direction. DC will put a new focus on a wide range of characters, giving them a new series in the process. Among these heroes is Zatanna, who in addition to being among the new members of the Justice League Unlimited list, it will be embarking on your own solo adventures through this series.
In addition to confirming that this series will have six issues, DC revealed that Zatanna will be challenged by an all-new villain called Lady White. There isn’t much information about who Lady White is to Zatanna and why they’re attacking her, but they’ve already made things personal by capturing Zatanna’s crew. With curses and spells involved, this could be a tale for the (dark) ages, but Campbell’s words also suggest that this limited series could be something even more than that.

Campbell says he’s ready to “[weave] all [his] character appreciation in these pages to show and prove what makes Zatanna so magical.“While it’s certainly comforting for fans of the character to know that their new head writer carries such an avid passion for the character, it makes the series all the more unmissable. Campbell’s words suggest that this new series could be equally a love letter to the character, as it is a completely new adventure for those who are not familiar. Zatanna could read this series and understand why she is worth loving, and those who love the character are on her most emotional journey yet.
