Darkseid’s death spawns the Absolute Universe, and Mister Terrific fills the Justice League in the situation. When Superman questions him about the chaotic vibrations of the Absolute Universe, Mister Terrific responds with a shocking admission: – I don’t know. These three words terrify Superman, which he reveals when he says, “You say that is one of the scariest things I’ve ever heard.” Superman clearly respects Mister Terrific’s intelligence, and when he doesn’t know something, it means the situation is dire. All of this goes to show how invaluable Mister Terrific has become, not only in Superman’s estimation, but to the Justice League as a whole.

Mister Terrific explains the emergence of Darkseid's new universe and how the vibrations are chaotic, and when he admits that he doesn't know what would happen if the vibrations slowed down, Superman remarks that not knowing is one of the scariest things he has Ever heard

Mister Terrific has proven to be one of DC’s smartest heroes

Superman recognizes Mister Terrific’s brilliant mind

Mister Terrific has long been considered one of the smartest characters in DC Comics, although his story had a rocky start. Michael Holt makes his first appearance as Mister Terrific in 1997 The specter #54 by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake, in which he prepares to take his own life after the tragic loss of his wife and unborn child. Then, before he can go through with it, muggers confront him and the Specter intervenes to save him. The Specter later tells Michael the story of Terrance Sloane, the first Mr. Terrific, who inspires Michael to follow in his footsteps and take up the mantle.

Michael Holt boasts a number of scientific achievements to his name. He has earned fourteen PhDs and runs a research company called Terrifitech that specializes in technological advancements beyond what most people are capable of. Perhaps his most iconic inventions are his T-spheres. The high-tech spheres float around Mister Terrific and obey his commands. They can defend, attack and more. Considering his amazing intelligence, Mister Terrific admitting to not knowing anything is a stark contrast to what his Justice League teammates have come to expect from him.

Superman’s words confirm Mighty’s a key member of the New League

From joining teams to leading his own, Mr. Magnificent is making his mark

As a member and ally of the Justice League, Mister Terrific has fought countless battles with them, cementing himself as a reliable team. Now, as Justice League is getting its biggest roster yet, Mister Terrific has stepped up to take a leadership role on the team. This is demonstrated when he stands with the Trinity and addresses the heroes who are invited to join. He’s always been an important member, but Mister Terrific being a leader in the Justice League is the logical next step for him.

The Justice League isn’t the only team that Mister Terrific has been a part of in DC’s canon. He was the chairman of the Justice Society of America, and he even leads his own team called the Terrifics. However, his current role in the League may be his most prolific, as he was instrumental in assembling the team through the creation of Justice League membership cards and providing critical information about threats affecting the entire universe. From here on out, there’s no Justice League without Mister Might, and DC’s latest crisis has reinforced his importance to the team.

Mister Mighty is on a roll, saving the Justice League in absolute power

Mr. Mighty helps Superman and his fellow heroes beat Amanda Waller

in the Absolute power miniseries by Mark Waid and Dan Mora, Mister Terrific proves beyond any doubt that he is the greatest asset of the Justice League. When the heroes’ hideout in Superman’s Fortress of Solitude is invaded by the Brainiac Queen, Mister Terrific enlists the help of Nightwing and Blue Beetle to build a transporter and evacuate everyone to Themyscira, saving their lives. There, Mister Terrific formulates a plan to free Jon Kent from the villains’ control after he was turned into a cyborg puppet for the Brainiac Queen, and his plan prevails with help from the Amazons.

Mister Terrific’s biggest contribution to the Justice League’s cause—and arguably what wins the war against Waller’s evil Justice League—is his upgrade to Air Wave’s suit. Airwave is the cousin of Hal Jordan, one of Earth’s Green Lanterns, and he has a costume that allows him to transform into radio waves that can be transmitted. in Absolute power #4, Mister Terrific modifies the suit to allow Air Wave to broadcast Waller’s words across the planet and expose her manipulation, thus ending the pursuit of DC’s heroes. Waller was defeated, and much of the victory was owed to Mister Terrific.

If Mr. Terrific doesn’t know the answer, the DC Universe is in trouble

Superman knows that the Absolute Universe is worth fearing

at the end of Absolute power #4, the main DC Universe is permanently shut off from the rest of the Multiverse, so the birth of the new DC Absolute Universe sparks many questions for Superman and the other heroes. The lack of answers from Mr. Terrific to such inquiries is cause for concern, because he usually has an answer for everything. If Mister Terrific is stomped, the Justice League has entered uncharted territory. With that in mind, Superman is understandably wary of the Absolute Universe as he discusses options with the rest of DC’s trinity.

Not much is known about the Absolute Universe right now, but readers just got a first look at the Absolute versions of the trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. With the chaotic energy of Darkseid, their universe is much rougher than the one the pre-existing heroes are used to. Mister Terrific’s confusion cements how ominous the change to DC’s canon is, with even Superman fearful of the implications. Mister Terrific will certainly be integral in preparing the Justice League for what the upcoming era holds, and Superman Is entitled to trust in his judgment.
