The original plan for the Superman series was for it to run for at least seven seasonsBut due to changes in the CW, Superman & Lois’ network, and DC, the hit show was canceled. Superman & Lois Season 4’s cast suffered many cuts due to budget changes.
With a shorter cast of series regulars, Superman & Lois Has focused more on a select few in each of its first two episodes. This, and the death of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, led to the DC show shining a spotlight on Clark Kent’s sons. Being the only one of the two who has powers, Alex Garfin’s Jordan Kent has a lot to do in Season 4. With his father dead and having to race against time to try to save his heart, Jordan is very Batman-like.
Superman & Lois Season 4 presents Superboy Batman’s interrogation technique
Only two episodes of Superman & Lois Season 4 have been released so far, but in both of them, Jordan Kent can be seen using the intimidation technique that Batman is known for when he interrogates someone. Trying to strike out as a hero in his father’s absence, the DC show’s Superboy interrogates villains by lifting them off the ground and pinning them against walls. Jordan uses this technique especially when confronting Michael Cudlitz’s Lex LuthorAlthough the villain turns the situation around with just words quite easily.

Jordan’s interrogation tactics are many More of a Batman method than anything Superman would do. DC’s Dark Knight is known for taking it to the rooftops and alleys of Gotham City to strike fear into criminals. Batman uses many intimidation tactics to break his enemies and get what he needs, and Jordan Kent tries to scare criminals in a similar way in Superman & Lois. Taylor Hoichlin’s Superman does not act in such a way, being a lighter kind of hero than his son.
Why Superman & Lois Season 4’s Superboy Story Is Right To Make Him More Than Batman In Some Ways
Jordan Kent is his own man
Superman & Lois Season 4 is pretty dark. With Clark Kent dead and his heart, which could save him, being in Lex Luthor’s possession, Jordan’s anger and desire to save his father is understandable. The show making his Superboy similar to Batman in his interrogation technique is an extension of that, viz Jordan’s impulsiveness mixed with his angerAnd the result is the common way he treats criminals. It also helps to highlight how different Clark and Jordan are, cementing that the world of Superman & Lois Will be very different with Superboy as his hero instead of Superman.
Based on the DC Comics characters, Superman & Lois follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane, trying to live a quiet life in Smallville with their twin sons Jonathan and Jordan. Unfortunately for the couple, their lives continue to be affected by Clark’s superhero identity and powers. Taylor Hoecklin and Elizabeth Tullosh star as Clark and Lois, with Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin portraying the couple’s sons.
