The Justice League franchise is one of DC's biggest

Justice League is one of DC's flagship franchises, and like any long-running pop culture property, it has ebbed and flowed. In the early 1990s, DC regularly published two Justice League titles: Justice League America and Justice League Europeas well as a Justice League Quarterly book. These books, especially Justice League Americawere acclaimed by both fans and critics, who praised the title for bucking the trend of “dark and gritty” comics. Top talent including JM DeMatteis, Kevin Maguire and Keith Giffen also worked on the books.
When Giffen, Maguire and DeMatteis ended their preparation, the Justice League franchise failed and attempts were made to breathe new life into it. For the first time since Crisis on Infinite EarthsSuperman joined the League. While it was an exciting change to the status quo, it still failed to boost sales, and Superman's first stint in the League ended with his death at the hands of Doomsday. Likewise, the Justice League fell into disarray and the franchise took years to fully recover. However, during this probably low point in the League's history, a new team emerged.
The Justice League Task Force, Explained
The Justice League Task Force was very different from its predecessors
Justice League Task Forcedebuting in 1993, it was different from other League teams that came before it. Outside of team leader Martian Manhunter, the Task Force did not have a stable membership, instead recruiting recruits as needed for each mission. Among the many who responded to the Justice League Task Force's call were stalwarts like Aquaman, the Flash, and Green Arrow, as well as surprise options like Triumph, Peter Cannon Thunderbolt, and the Tasmanian Devil. As noted in Black Canary: the best of the best #1, the titular heroine also joined.
Although the Justice League Task Force was sidelined as a result, it still remains an important part of the lore, ranking alongside the Satellite or Detroit eras of the team.

Although the Justice League Task Force was sidelined as a result, it still remains an important part of the lore, ranking alongside the Satellite or Detroit eras of the team. At a time when the franchise had lost some of its shine Justice League Task Force moved on, providing fans with a new view of the team.
Will the Justice League Task Force ever return?
The Task Force remains an important part of Justice League history
And now, the Task Force receives praise more than 30 years after its creation. The ring announcer mentioned the Task Force alongside many other great teams that Black Canary has been a part of, which is a clear sign of respect. Nostalgia for 1990s comics is in vogue right now, and while this is a shout out to the Justice League The Task Force may be nothing more than that, but it still shows that the team was a vital part of not only Black Canary's history, but the League's as well.
