Although HoYoverse has not yet made an official announcement, the version 5.3 live broadcast date and time can be predicted based on the game's standard update schedule and past behavior. With version 5.3 expected to arrive on January 1st, thanks to the game's six-week schedule for each update, and with the live stream taking place two weeks earlier on Friday mornings, it's possible to predict that the Genshin Impact The version 5.3 live stream will take place on December 20th at around 8am ET. The live streaming event will likely be broadcast on the official channel Genshin Impact activated channels YouTube and Muscle contraction.

This speculation is based on the game's current schedule, but it could change. As the release of the next patch is expected to coincide with the first day of 2025, its release may be delayed in some way, which may also affect the live broadcast. What to expect from the Genshin Impact 5.3 live stream – New characters and leaked banners

Three new units are confirmed for the patch, with a fourth character leaked

As mentioned previously, several new characters are expected in version 5.3. HoYoverse has already confirmed three units: Mavuika, Citlali and Lan Yan. However, there are rumors that the Pyro Traveler will finally be available, likely coinciding with some event that occurs in Natlan's story arc. Mavuika is rumored to be a 5-star Pyro character who wields a claymore in combat. The leaks about Mavuika in Genshin Impact 5.3 has so far described it as a hybrid DPS and sub-DPS off-field unit that can be built either way.

Leaks about her say that Mavuika can enter her unique Nightsoul Blessing state and use her normal and charged attacks to deal Pyro DMG to enemies. It is rumored that she also rides a motorcycle in combat, which can also be used for exploration, as she can climb walls, cross bodies of water, and even fly. Additionally, leaks say that Mavuika's Ultimate does not cost Energy, but rather an exclusive resource called Fighting Spirit. With her sub-DPS build, Mavuika is rumored to dish out Pyro DMG off the field to opponents while the team's active character functions normally.

On the contrary, the leaks about Citlali in Genshin Impact 5.3 indicate that she will be a support unit capable of protecting her allies with her Elemental Skill. Citlali is rumored to be a 5-star Cryo character who wields a catalyst in battle. Additionally, his Elemental Burst is rumored to create a damage-dealing Cryo field, which could help with several other reactions. Citlali could be a great support unit to run alongside Mavuika's DPS build, for example, as they could consistently trigger Melt together.

This is especially true because Mavuika supposedly also benefits from allies' Nightsoul Bursts.

Lan Yan is rumored to be a 4-star Anemo character who also has a catalyst. Just like Citlali, rumors say that Lan Yan's main role in team compositions is support focused on protecting allies. Lan Yan's leaked kit at Genshin Impact 5.3 shows that she can create a shield with her Elemental Skill and that it can undergo Elemental Conversion, just like Chasca's bullets – as such, the shield can essentially alter elements and absorb them with greater efficiency. Lan Yan's leaks also show that she can contribute to team damage and facilitate Swirl with other elements.

Not confirmed by HoYoverse in any way so far, the fourth leaked playable character for version 5.3 is Pyro Traveler. The protagonist's Pyro form has been blocked since his arrival in Natlan, which was an unprecedented occurrence in the game. Leaks indicate this will be unlocked by completing the Natlan Archon missions. Leaks about the Pyro Traveler kit in Genshin Impact 5.3 shows that they will operate as sub-DPS off the field. There is a chance that HoYoverse is keeping this a secret, so they may not be featured in the version 5.3 live stream.

What must be confirmed during the special event is the structure of the banners. The leak Genshin Impact 5.3 character banners indicate that Mavuika and Citlali will debut in Phase 1 banners, while Arlecchino and Clorinde are rumored to appear as repeat units in Phase 2. This leaked structure coincides with another leak that mentions that starting with version 5.3, new character releases will always debut on Phase 1 banners and last for the entire patch, while repeat units will only appear on Phase 2 banners of each update. If true, HoYoverse should confirm this during the live broadcast.

While the load of new characters is expected to take up much of the 5.3 livestream, HoYoverse will likely also tease Natlan Archon's final quests. It's unknown exactly what will happen, but the Pyro Nation has not yet concluded its fight against the Abyss incursion, and this will likely occur in some form during the new main story missions. The new weekly boss, rumored to be an Abyss-corrupted version of Xiuhcoatl, will also likely be introduced, albeit briefly.during the Genshin Impact 5.3 live broadcast.

The patch is also expected to host the annual Lantern Rite Festival, which will likely be heavily detailed during the live stream.. The special event will likely showcase the activities players will be able to participate in, as well as the rewards for participating. There are also big rumors about a new Hu Tao skin – if true, it will likely be highlighted during the live stream.

Based on leaks, version 5.3 will be a major update with a large amount of content for players to explore, from main story missions to new characters and events. While HoYoverse may keep some details secret to avoid spoilers, most of the content should be described thoroughly during the Genshin Impact 5.3 livestream, which shouldn't take long to happen.
