Serving the dual purpose of teasing the new season and revealing when it will arrive, AMC has released the first briefing provocation for the series, which is narrated by Leaphorn. The 8-episode third season is currently scheduled to arrive on March 9, 2025.

Executive producer Chris Eyre, who also directed the season 2 finale, believes there are still many stories to tell.

Dark Winds was renewed for Season 3, several weeks after the Season 2 finale. This was welcome news, especially as many involved in the show made it clear that the story wasn’t over. Executive producer Chris Eyre, who also directed the season 2 finale, believes there are still many stories to tell. “I don’t feel like we’ve hit our stride with this series” said Eyre TV line at the beginning of that same month. The cast of Dark Winds season 3 has been widely revealed, and it’s no surprise that the main trio will be back to reprise their roles after season 2’s shocking ending. Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon will reprise their roles as Joe Leaphorn and Jim Cheewith Jessica Matten once again returning as Bernadette. A number of new guest stars were also revealed for season 2, including Jenna Elfman as FBI agent Sylvia Washington and Bruce Greenwood as a character named Tom Spenser. Details about the new guest stars are scarce, and it’s not yet clear how they will fit into the story.

Even though the act brought Leaphorn some much-needed catharsis regarding her son’s death, it’s clear that the past is never truly buried in this psychological thriller.

AMC revealed the plot of the upcoming third season of Dark Winds and offers a tantalizing mystery. Set six months after the end of Season 2, the new season will follow Leaphorn and Chee as they investigate the disappearance of two boys with almost no evidence to help them. Meanwhile, Bernadette tries to find a place for herself at the Border Patrol Agency, but uncovers a conspiracy involving trafficking.

These developments will be important Dark Winds third season, but they are far from the only expected plot threads. Although the Dark Winds The Season 2 finale, ‘Hózhó náhásdlįį’, finds Leaphorn facing a crucial moral dilemma head-on, but it doesn’t tie up all of the series’ loose threads.
