Dark Souls 3 is set to return as remaster rumors swirl

Dark Souls 3 It may not be the game FromSoftware enthusiasts want to see remastered, but if the rumors are true, it’s what gamers can expect. Since its launch in 2015, FromSoftware fans have begged studio and publisher Sony to bring Transmitted by blood for modern platforms and free it from PlayStation 4 exclusivity. Reports have been circulating for years that the game will eventually return, but the latest round of rumors claims that a different masterpiece from FromSoftware is preparing to return to the spotlight.

According to reputable insider Nick Baker, speaking in The XboxEra Podcast, a remastered version of Dark Souls 3 is currently in development.

It’s important to note, as with all rumors, that fans should take this reveal with a grain of salt until some sort of official confirmation or announcement is provided. Considering Dark Souls 3age (almost a decade) It stands to reason that FromSoftware would like to give it a new life even though many fans think the game doesn’t necessarily need an update.

Does Dark Souls 3 need a remaster?

It certainly wouldn’t hurt

From a mechanical point of view, Dark Souls 3 still plays incredibly well. Its combat still holds up eight years after its release in 2016: Although it maintains the more thoughtful pace of the previous ones Dark Souls games, you can also feel a little Transmitted by bloodspeed and combos, making it more accessible and fun. That said, its graphics could use some improvements and while it’s certainly not an ugly game (far from it), the benefits of today’s hardware cannot be underestimated.

Dark Souls 3 may have received an FPS boost on modern consoles, but its performance can still be quite choppy, especially during boss encounters that require players to avoid attacks that generate a lot of particle effects. One can imagine a remaster introducing a stable 60fps mode, as well as updates to all textures and character models, perhaps bringing it up to Elden Ringis standard. Dark Souls 3 It is the only game in the trilogy that has not been remastered so it stands to reason that FromSoftware would eventually be able to resolve this.

Dark Souls 3 Remastered could be good

But it’s not what the fans want

The Ashen One in Dark Souls 3 kneels as he lets dust fall from his hand

As is probably the case with many fans, I’m excited to see if a remaster of Dark Souls 3 comes true but knowing that we are potentially getting such a project before a Transmitted by blood remastering is disappointing. The PS4 exclusive is one of my favorite games and as much as I enjoy the third Dark Soulsit just doesn’t scratch the same itch. I’m still going to play an updated one Dark Souls 3 but that won’t stop me from campaigning to see Transmitted by blood come to PC.
