What happened in the second episode of Dan Da Dan?
Controversial and wild start to the series
The episode begins with Momo breaking up with her boyfriend and pining for her “Ken Takamura” as she calls it. While walking around school, she sees a shy boy being bullied and intervenes, scaring off the bullies. As she leaves, the boy follows her and asks if she is as interested in the existence of aliens as he is. Momo is on the opposite spectrum as she believes ghosts exist and they get into an argument. They challenge each other, and whoever proves their belief correct will have another servant.
Momo goes into an abandoned building to find out if aliens exist, and Okarun goes into a tunnel to find out if ghosts exist. They talk on the phone and this is where they reveal why they have the beliefs they do, and it’s both sad and touching to say the least. It turns out that both ghosts and aliens exist, and they are both under attack. Okarun is possessed by Turbo Granny, and Momo is kidnapped by the alien race Serpo. Momo fights these creatures that want to reproduce with her, but to no avail.

After an intense battle, the two reflect on their situation and decide to banish Okarun by destroying Turbo Granny.
The pilot project was a place of adaptation
The anime greatly improved upon the source material
The first thing you notice about the first episode is the stellar adaptation and animation of the series. The action scenes were executed perfectly, the visuals were colorful, and the playful nature of the series was shown through the expressiveness of the characters. The creative choice at the end to use an explosion to symbolize Momo’s potential feelings for Okarun was a neat addition that made the scene, and there will be more such additions to come.
Momo and Okarun begin their stupid quest
With episode #1 introducing the main characters and the conflict, the series can finally begin to tell the story of these two dealing with the supernatural. Judging by the preview images, this episode will be just as action-packed as the previous one. Momo and Okarun are about to lift Turbo Granny’s curse using their newfound powers, but before they head into the tunnel, they’ll likely have to take some rest, judging by the two’s new clothes.
Dan Yes Dan It’s been phenomenal so far, with the long hype and wait finally paying off. It’s also interesting to see the hype on the Internet, whether it’s good or bad. Episode #1 had a scandalous scene that was shocking and set the tone for the weirdness of the series, making it stand out among the many shonen anime released.
