Notice! This post contains SPOILERS for Creature Commandos Episode 5Creature Commands episode 5 features a handful of exciting Easter eggs and DCU references. Featuring a return to Pokolistan for most of Task Force M to kill Princess Rostovic, Rick Flag Sr. stays behind due to his doubts about Circe's dark vision of the future being real. This leads to some interesting potential connections to future DCU projects, the debut of a classic Batman villain, and more.

Connections to Themyscira and Greek mythology
Setting up the DCU series Paradise Lost?
By teaching a class (and acting extremely unprofessionally) at the beginning of the Creature Commands episode 5, Professor McPherson flirts and asks one of her students to tell her three things she likes about Themyscira, the island of the Amazons. Student responds with sculptures of Antigone and newly discovered poetry of Appolonia. Both names have links to Greek mythology, with Antigone being a princess and main character in several Greek tragedies, while Appolonia is the feminine aspect of the Greek god Apollo. As such, these references are likely meant to configure Paradise Lostthe upcoming DCU series about the home of Wonder Woman and her fellow warriors.

Professor McPherson's House in Creature Commandos, Episode 5
Full of Amazonian artifacts
Spying on the teacher due to his doubts about her confirming Circe's vision as real to Waller, Rick Flag Sr. and his new ally Eric Frankenstein break into the McPherson house after seeing her acting so strangely during class. The house is filled with all kinds of shields, vases, sculptures and helmets. As such, It's probably safe to assume that all of these artifacts have connections to the Amazons and Paradise Island, given McPherson's area of expertise. (at least when she was alive, as the real McPherson is found murdered in her room by Rick and Eric).
Regardless, it will be interesting to see if the Amazon helmets in Paradise Lost have the same design seen in the McPherson collection. Previously, it was theorized that McPherson could appear in live-action played by actress Stephanie Beatriz (who is voicing the character in this new animated series). However, this no longer appears to be a viable option now that McPherson has been found dead and replaced by an impostor in Creature Commands episode 5.

Clayface makes his DCU debut
A classic Batman villain
The fake McPherson is revealed to be none other than Basil Karlo, aka Clayface. A classic Batman villain, Clayface is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also voices Karlo in the animated comedy series Harley Quinn. Likewise, a Clayface The DCU-set film was recently announced by DC Studios, although it has not yet been confirmed whether Tudyk will also play the live-action version. In Creature CommandsRick Flag deduces that someone hired Clayface to play a fake McPherson and validate Circe's vision for Task Force M to do their dirty work and kill Princess Rostovic.

Rick Flag's Broken Back Looks Familiar
Mirroring Bane and Batman
While Eric Frankenstein manages to defeat Clayface using electricity from a nearby outlet, it is only after Karlo brutally defeats Rick Flag Sr. Clayface is shown breaking Rick's back over his knee after a brief fight. This is not unlike Bane and his iconic victory over Batman when he broke the Dark Knight's back, seen in the comics and live action in 2012. The Dark Knight Rises.

Does James Gunn's dog have a cameo in Creature Commandos episode 5?
Featured in some works of art in Pokolistan
During Task Force M's fight with the Pokolistan Knights, who attempt to ambush them at the end of Creature Commands episode 5, there may be a subtle reference to James Gunn's dog Ozu. The dog face art featured on the side of a building as the Bride fights one of the knights bears a resemblance to Gunn's dog, the same canine that inspired the look of Krypto the Superdog, which is set to debut in 2025. Superman. That said, it could just be a coincidence rather than an intentional Easter egg in the new DCU animated series.
