The ObserverThe popularity and ambiguous ending left audiences hoping for a second season. Ryan Murphy’s true crime thriller is loosely based on the story of 657 Boulevard and tells the story of the Brannocks (fictionalized versions of the Broaddus family) whose move to a seemingly idyllic suburban home proves disastrous. When the family receives threatening letters from an anonymous “Vigilante,” they hire a private detective to help solve the case. The identity of the observer is never revealed, and the series ends ominously for both the Brannocks and the new residents of 657 Boulevard.
Like many Ryan Murphy TV shows, The Observer proved to be a hit with audiences, even if critics were less than pleased with the thriller (via Rotten tomatoes). However, The Observer hit a nerve in its first season and even received the green light to return for a second game. Despite this, news has been scarce.

Cast of the 2nd season of the Observador
Will anyone return?
The Observer Season 1 featured a well-known and talented cast, who could return if Season 2 continued the same story. In addition to Theodora Birch, from Dumzweni, who dies of cancer in The Observer end of season 1, every main character survives season 1 and may return for the show’s renewal. However, Naomi Watt’s update on the series may suggest that The Observer it’s also becoming an anthology that would require an entirely new cast, something Ryan Murphy’s shows are well known for.
The Watcher Season 2 Story
Could it be an anthology?
So far, it is not clear whether The Observer will season 2 pick up where season 1 left off or take the story in an entirely new direction. Considering Naomi Watt’s comments about Season 2, the former is becoming less and less likely as time goes on. Additionally, the true criminal nature of the story limits how far season two can take things, as the finale of The Observer it was also the end of the real-life story, and everything else would be fiction. The Observer the second season could become an anthology that explores other cases of suburban horror.
