Colossus has just become Wolverine’s enemy, and their friendship is ruined forever.

At the turn, no one saw the approach, Wolverine has found his most personal villain of all time in his former X-Men ally Colossus. This is not an ordinary misunderstanding between heroes, but an unbreakable vendetta that will only end when one or the other diesshaping the rest of Wolverine’s life. But what could Colossus do to turn his longtime ally into a potential killer?

The split takes place in the film by Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo. Wolverine: Revenge. The story is set in a world where Magneto’s old base on Asteroid M crashed onto Earth, killing a hundred million people and releasing an EMP that fried the world’s technology. Nick Fury leads Wolverine, Captain America and the Winter Soldier on a mission to steal the vital SEED generator from the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in order to return power to the Western world.


Wolverine looks vengeful

Unfortunately, when the heroes arrive, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants is unwilling to give up their generator. Deadpool, Omega Red and Sabretooth hunt down Fury’s agents, plant bombs in their chests and hold them captive. To Wolverine’s horror, it turned out that Colossus teamed up with the grouphoping to use a generator instead for “re-illuminate our half of the world.” Deadpool unexpectedly detonates the bombs, killing Captain America and Bucky and setting Wolverine on a path of brutal revenge.

Seeking revenge, Wolverine puts his former friend at gunpoint.

Wolverine and Colossus joined the X-Men in 1975. Giant X-Men #1and from then on they became friends and allies. The two spent so much time fighting side by side that they even invented the “Fastball Special” move, in which Colossus hurls Wolverine at a distant enemy. Logan helped Colossus through his toughest moments, always knowing that when he faced insurmountable odds, his steel-skinned friend would have his back. Unfortunately, this relationship is now irrevocably broken as the characters’ differing priorities put them at odds.

What’s interesting in Wolverine: Revenge is that the comic takes time to get Colossus’ point of view across. As he points out, he did not cause the explosion of Asteroid M, and the SEED generator is rightfully owned by his group, who were only protected from the EMP due to the sacrifice of one of their members. Colossus notes that it is Fury’s troops trying to steal the generator, and also makes it clear that planting the bombs and killing Steve Rogers were the actions of Deadpool (though Colossus could have fought to stop him). Colossus simply prioritizes the survival of the East over the rebirth of the West.and he will fight with his friend to make sure of this, “When the sun rises, it will illuminate our flowering lands.”

Now Wolverine has taken it upon himself to hunt down the Brotherhood members one by one, and he’s already made a great start. In issue two, Wolverine uses Magneto’s helmet to counter Mastermind’s power, killing the former leader of the group. He then battles Sabretooth, using a device developed by Forge to remove his enemy’s healing factor and finally destroy him for good. The blurb for the next issue says that Logan’s next targets are Deadpool and Omega Red, and he’s saving his old friend for last.

Fans already know this Wolverine: Revenge will follow Wolverine into old age, taking revenge on his former friend.

The X-Men Colossus looks devastated

It’s tragic to see Wolverine and Colossus ready to kill each other. Wolverine: Revengebut this story only highlights how dark the stories of Colossus have become over the past few years. In the main Marvel timeline, Colossus has just spent several months under the control of his evil brother Mikhail, who forced him to kill his partner and betray the X-Men. Meanwhile, in the newly launched Ultimate Marvel Universe, Colossus is a member of the Council of Creators, a group that secretly controls the world.plunging it into a state of constant war to ensure that their influence would never be challenged.

Interestingly, the Marvel Ultimate comics have begun to suggest that Colossus may have heroic motives here too, with hints that his territory is home to the world’s mutants who live peacefully outside the public eye. If so, that’s exciting. in three separate episodes, Colossus became a villain, essentially against his will.. There seems to be something about the X-Men’s larger-than-life hero that makes the creative teams want to drag him kicking and screaming into the darkness. Of course, being hunted by Wolverine is about as dark as it gets.

Fans already know this Wolverine: Revenge will follow Wolverine into old age as his desire for revenge becomes hellish “eye for an eye” combat. This means that, despite Wolverineadamantium claws and Forge devices – Colossus has his own plans to come forward as friends become sworn enemies.
