Code Geass still has a lot of room to grow

As beloved as he is, Lelouch is not the axis of Geass Code

In recent years, Geass Code grew to an immense extent. Fans of the original series who haven't kept up with the recent films may feel like there aren't many new directions left for the series that don't cynically try (and fail) to recapture the magic of the original series. This couldn't be further from the truth, and Rozé da Recaptura is a perfect example. Geass Code: Rozé da Recaptura it didn't appear out of nowhere; is a sequel to 2019 Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrectionwhich itself is a sequel to a compilation film series that recaps the original series but makes small adjustments and establishes an alternate universe.

This new continuity is not an incomplete attempt to maintain Geass Code on life support; the underlying political melodrama and moral interrogation that the series forced upon audiences in its original iteration are alive and well. Through creative reinterpretation and expansion, the sociopolitical superstructure that propelled Geass Code and Lelouch is still there. The original cast of characters is, by necessity, a thing of the past – but the spirit of the series lives on. Geass Code fans who didn't love it Rozé da Recaptura we must keep an open mind, because in fact it is proof that Geass CodeThe universe is a ripe foundation for building new and compelling characters and settings.

The new entries promised for 2026 should come out of each Geass Code fan excited to see what comes next.
