Cobra Kai confirms who the best fighter is

Warning: Spoilers for Cobra Kai season 6, part 2

Any remaining uncertainties regarding the debate between John Kreese and Terry Silver were cleared up by the fight that unfolded in Cobra Kai Season 6 Finale, Part 2. Decades after serving as Daniel LaRusso’s co-antagonists in The Karate Kid Part IIISilver and Kreese found themselves on a collision course at the end of the Season 4 finale. Although Kreese’s promise of revenge was not fulfilled in Season 5, the feeling remained that his story could not end without a confrontation between him and his former partner.

Cobra Kai finally made good on that promise during the Sekai Taikai tournament. Kreese was distracted from his goal of defeating Johnny and Daniel’s Miyagi-Do dojo when Terry Silver turned out to be the person supporting the Iron Dragons’ dojo. Their desire for a pay packet created a perfect opportunity for Cobra Kai to settle their differences and pit the two against each other, at the very least. By all accounts, the fight didn’t end with the fight, but as for the question of which character is the superior fighter – that is no longer up in the air.

Terry Silver is a better fighter than John Kreese

From the looks of it, Kreese had every intention of not giving Silver a fighting chance and killing him with Kim Sun-Yung’s knife. But due to the loss of the knife in the chaos of all the Sekai Taikai teams fighting, Kreese was forced to enjoy a fair fight with Silver. Kreese threw the first punch and seemed capable of hitting him harder based on how much Silver staggered from his punches. But by creating some distance with one of his signature kicks, Silver was able to disappear from Kreese’s sight just long enough to launch a surprise attack.

In the past, Silver has proven how adept he is at seizing the moment and acting quickly to incapacitate a winded opponent.. Similar to how he used this tactic to defeat Johnny in Season 4, Silver employed a quick series of attacks that Kreese wasn’t quick enough to defend against. This assured him the victory and cemented his status as the better fighter between the two. Cobra Kai villains.

Terry Silver’s victory makes Kreese the weakest of Cobra Kai’s main legacy fighters

It’s unlikely that Kreese will be able to beat any of the original Karate Kid fighters

In light of Terry Silver’s victory over Kreese, it’s safe to say that Martin Kove’s character – despite his menacing reputation – is the weakest of the main legacy fighters in history. Cobra Kai. Daniel defeated him in the Season 3 finale with the Miyagi-Do secret move that Chozen taught him, and Johnny would have won as well if not for Robby’s intervention. What is more, both Daniel (and now Johnny) have outright victories over Silver, which is a claim Kreese can’t fairly make.

If he is not on the same level as any of them, it can be assumed that Kreese wouldn’t be able to beat Chozen either. After all, a strong argument might be that he is The Karate Kid the best fighter in the franchise. Not only did he go through several karate instructors, but he also defeated Terry Silver in a one-on-one fight – while drunk. With that in mind, it’s hard to imagine him beating Chozen. Something similar can be said of Mike Barnes, who fought to a draw with Chozen and lost a close fight to Johnny.

Did Cobra Kai end Terry Silver and John Kreese’s rivalry?

Kreese and Silver may fight again before the show ends

After the way things ended Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2, it’s worth asking if Kreese will get another chance to beat Silver. Kreese has never been one to let go of his grudge, so the character preparing a second attempt at revenge against Silver is not unfeasible by any means. If that happened, Cobra Kai could theoretically change course and let Kreese win the rematch – just like he did with Johnny and Silver – but Silver, who has seemingly beaten Kreese when it comes to speed and ingenuity, probably won’t let that happen.

Kreese never intended for any of the children to lose their lives in his quest for revenge.

It’s important to note, though, that the two of them fighting again isn’t necessarily a guarantee. Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 ended with the two still at odds, but their issues with each other could soon be overshadowed by the fallout from Kwon’s death. Silver, and especially Kreese, seemed genuinely dismayed by what happened at the tournament. His reaction reflects the idea that, despite all his faults, Kreese never intended for any of the children to lose their lives in his quest for revenge. For that reason, it could serve as a huge turning point in Kreese’s character arc and how he intends to deal with Silver.

Set decades after the events of the Karate Kid franchise, Cobra Kai changes direction and puts viewers in the perspective of a former rival/antagonist, Johnny Lawrence. In his 50s and down on his luck, a chance encounter with a bullied young man leads Johnny back to Karate. Agreeing to help him, Johnny takes the opportunity to revive his old home, the Cobra Kai dojo – becoming a haven for outcast teenagers.
