Although Christine's children were happy for their mother when they learned about David and eventually met him, some were concerned about the speed at which things were happening. Although they liked David and trusted Christine's judgment, some of the older children pointed out that she moved on too quickly after meeting him rather than trying to make other connections. The older children were looking after Christine, hopining that she was not putting all her eggs in one basket and allowing herself to be fooled as she went through her first relationship in years.
