Josh Brolin reportedly passed on the Hal Jordan role. The hero is described as a "Lantern legend" in the DCU, which explains why DC is seemingly looking at older names for the character. Although there have been no official updates since Brolin chose not to play the role, speculation online points to Payne, Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor, and The Mandalorian Star Timothy Olyphant is being considered for the role in the upcoming DCU project.
