Chicago Fire Season 13 Secretly Reveals Matt Casey’s True Firehouse 51 Replacement

Notice! Spoilers ahead for Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 7, “Untouchable.”Chicago Fire season 13, episode 7, confirms the replacement of Matt Casey in Firehouse 51 with an unexpected character. Alongside Eammon Walker and Taylor Kinney, Jesse Spencer served as the face of One Chicago’s inaugural show in its first decade. So while Chicago Fire and its larger universe are well-adjusted when it comes to cast shufflinglosing Casey was a huge blow for NBC and Wolf Entertainment’s Windy City franchise. The good thing was that even after Spencer left the project, he came back a few times to reprise his fan-favorite role as Chicago Fire discovered his romance with Sylvie Brett.

Once the universe finally decided what to do with the slow-burn romance, Chicago Fire finally wrote Casey out for good in season 12. Technically, Spencer can still return to visit Firehouse 51, but unlike when Brett was still the PIC of Ambo 61, there’s no longer any pressing reason for him to go to the Windy City. Although the fire department remains effective in its emergency response work, Chicago Fire Season 13 needs to replace the dynamic that was lost when Casey and Severide were separated, and it looks like they’ve found a way to finally do that.

Chicago Fire season 13 introduced boss Wallace Boden’s replacement, Dom Pascal. The new head of Firehouse 51 has had a rocky start to his tenure, unfortunately. After a few heated moments with some of his more notable squad members, the rescuer paired Pascal with Severide on an arson case. The duo’s work continues in “Untouchables”, which ends with a case closed for the duo. Surprisingly, however, Chicago Fire season 13, episode 7 ends with Severide smoking cigars with Pascal in front of the barracks – an activity he used to do with Casey.

…Severide may find the friendly, almost brotherly dynamic he had with Casey in Pascal.

In the past, Severide and Casey used their time smoking to relax or discuss something important. Admittedly, seeing Taylor Kinney’s character doing the same to Pascal is a little disheartening, but beyond the look, it’s also a significant potential for the dynamic the pair will develop in the future. When they first met, the two weren’t fans of each other, but working on the arson case and realizing they had more similarities than differences helped them. In terms of relationships, Severide can find in Pascal the friendly and almost brotherly dynamic he had with Casey.

What Severide’s new relationship with Pascal means for Chicago Fire

This is good news for Fire Department 51

As seen in Chicago Fire season 13, episodes 6 and 7, Severide and Pascal work well together. After their shared victory and bonding moment, expect them to have a better relationship in the future. Of course, their dynamic is still far from what Severide had with Casey when he was still on Firehouse 51. That said, it’s a good start to see the team’s two main leaders finally getting on the same page and finding a way to work alongside each other despite the understandable disappointment over the loss of Boden.

More than anything, though, Severide’s new relationship with Pascal is great news for the rest of Fire Station 51. As the unofficial leader of the unit after Boden, seeing him get along with the new chief will motivate him. them to accept it more. Somehow, his time with Severide effectively fixed Pascal in Chicago Fire season 13, although that doesn’t mean he should just sit back and wait for his subordinates to come looking for him.
