Chainsaw Man confirms his most powerful devil, and it’s not Pochita or Yoru

Warning: Spoilers for Chainsaw Man chapter #179

Chainsaw Mans primal devils are often the strongest in the series, the more a concept is feared, the more powerful its corresponding devil becomes. When the Aging Devil made his first appearance though, he never seemed like a threat. It launched an attack on full-power Pochita, during which the Primal Devil’s hands were sliced clean off by his chains. The younger devil seems to have held backHowever, as the final chapter #179, titled “Wamwagh”, suggests that the Devil may be Chainsaw Mans strongest yet.

With a burning passion for turning Pochita into one of her weapons, the War Devil has shown a monstrous side that has been largely dormant since her first introduction. Now trigger-happy, Yoru’s new arms have turned her into a war machine, the devil sparing little thought for her actions other than attacking. Rushing into battle with aging would spell disaster for Yoru, and in turn, Asa, as The pair seem to have little chance of survival in a fight with the Primal Devil.

The War Devil’s “Bang!” is thrown out

Pochita, still in pieces on the ground, kindly asking for blood donations, and Yoru, seemingly insane with power, are now in grave danger while in the presence of the younger devil. Chainsaw Man can be relatively safe from harm, as aging is shown to be much more interested in being eaten than it is fighting the hero of Hell. Yoru, on the other hand, is notably vulnerable.

In the previous chapter #178, Yoru unleashes an attack courtesy of the Statue of Liberty, which rips across oceans from New York to Tokyo, Before almost turning chainsaw man to dust. The iconic “bang” move, popularized by Makima in part one of Chainsaw ManIs given an almost impossible power-up by the sacrifice of the fingers of pistol owners throughout the United States. With such a move in her arsenal, Yoru’s fight with Pochita was all but over.

however, Chainsaw Man wouldn’t be itself without author Tatsuki Fujimoto’s trademark twists and turns, and The latest chapter wastes no time in trivializing Yoru’s new weapon. When she fires it once again, this time at the younger devil, without so much as lifting a finger, it instantly immobilizes the shot, before melting it into what appears to be sand.

Seems completely unfazed, if not a little annoyed by the War Devil’s attack, Aging gets ready for battle, remarking that both Pochita and Yoru need to grow up. The line is fitting, as shortly before Yoru fires her weapon, she easily manipulates Asa into giving up control of her body, showing the immaturity in her completely unfounded trust in Yoru. As it happens, Pochita still provides comedic relief with his little sign for blood donations.

Aging Devil’s primal abilities may be too much for Pochita and Yoru’s brute strength

Primal Devils, like Falling and Darkness, have been shown to function on a different scale than Devils like Pochita and Yoru. The Falling Devil can open portals to Hell and manipulate gravity, while Darkness nearly decimates the entire cast, including Makima, in part one. Now, Aging Devil is able to stop projectiles moving at impossible speeds with little effort. Neither Yoru nor Pochita, especially in his current condition, will be able to defeat the aging devil with their usual brute strength.

Unsurprisingly, the aging devil seems able to age things at will, as shown by the sphere turning to dust, an ability likely powerful enough to destroy Pochita and Yoru, leaving no trace of any devil behind. The only one who is able to stop Yoru from impulsively rushing to her death is Asa, and it is reasonable to predict that while in control of her body, she may try to revive Pochita in a desperate plea for help. The War Devil may have an absolute breakdown, but the only viable path to victory will likely involve The one-sided rivalry becomes a short-term partnership.

Aging Devil said that Pochita and Yoru have to grow up in chapter #179.

It would also be reasonable to assume that part two of Chainsaw Man is nearing its conclusion. The Aging Devil is naturally tied to the still mysterious Dead Devil, and the upcoming showdown can only lead to the final enemy’s long-awaited reveal. Regardless, the Chainsaw Man and Yoru would be wise to come up with a plan of attack, either Neither will last long enough to witness the end of the series. Whether the two team up or not, upcoming chapters of Chainsaw Man are all but guaranteed to venture in some unexpected direction.
