Months after its end, CBS offers a preview of what Young Sheldon season 8 would have become if it continued. It's no secret that Young SheldonThe cancellation was not due to a lack of public interest. In addition to maintaining its position as TV's No. 1 comedy, it also garnered high ratings during its final year. Normally, this would have been motivation enough for a renewal, but due to its The Big Bang Theory ties, CBS had no choice but to pull the plug Young Sheldonas Chuck Lorre and his producers chose to honor the established canon.
There were mainly two reasons of continuity as to why Young Sheldon It ended when it ended. Two of the Cooper family's biggest incidents occurred in 1994 when the show ended, for The Big Bang Theory. Firstly, the death of George Cooper and secondly, Sheldon's move to California to begin his graduate studies at Caltech. Both plots took place emotionally Young Sheldon end. That said, considering the show's success, there have been calls for it to move forward. That clearly didn't happen, but CBS recently teased what Season 8 would look like.
Georgie and Mandy's First Wedding Continues the Coopers' Story After Young Sheldon
The Coopers were involved in Georgie and Mandy's new life
The story of the remaining Texas-based family members continues through Georgie and Mandy's first wedding. Born outside the unexpected success of Georgie and Mandy's romance in Young SheldonThe sequel spin-off follows the couple as they navigate their new life as an accidental couple and parents to Baby Cece. Admitting that the focus of their narrative has shifted to the McAllisters as the new extended cast, the fact that the couple's love story began with Young Sheldon makes it a follow-up project.
In addition to its main story, however, Georgie and Mandy's first wedding also occasionally features the Cooper family. Its pilot, “6:10 to Lubbock”, brought Mary and Meemaw back, and in the following week's “Some New York Nonsense”, Missy returned. For what it's worth, his appearances are always welcome, especially considering how Young Sheldon it ended. In addition to helping the new show be more appealing to those who loved the original series, the three women are just a short drive away from Georgie and Mandy. Not having them around would be more suspicious.
Georgie and Mandy's First Wedding “Thanksgiving” Teases What Young Sheldon's Season 8 Could Have Been
The Coopers are still grieving
Cooper's best reunion, however, came a few episodes into the freshman series, via Georgie and Mandy's first wedding episode 5, “Thanksgiving.” Although they have made cameos previously, it wasn't until the holiday special that Mary, Meemaw, Missy, and Georgie shared the screen again since the Young Sheldon end. On the outing, the McAllisters invited the Coopers to stay for Thanksgiving after Mary claimed she didn't want to celebrate the holiday because of George's death.
The tour is a provocation of what Young Sheldon Season 8 could have been like that – with the family still dealing with the grief of their patriarch's death and getting used to not having Sheldon around. Georgie and Mandy's first wedding was able to inject some humor into the narrative through the McAllisters and even Dale, but for the most part, it was very difficult to watch Mary struggle with not having George around and Georgie having to carry the burden of being a son/brother and husband /father.
If Lorre and his team decided to continue with Season 8 of Young Sheldon, the episodes would be somewhat like the “Thanksgiving” of Georgie & Mandy's first wedding – focusing on the Coopers, while the McAllisters are incorporated, considering that the couple and baby Cece long live them.
While Missy's storyline has been a bit more light-hearted, there's something heartbreaking about seeing her seemingly happy when a previous episode established her anguish over George's death. If Lorre and his team decided to continue with Young Sheldon Season 8, the episodes would be more or less similar Georgie and Mandy's first wedding'Thanksgiving' – focusing on the Coopers, while the McAllisters are incorporated, as the couple and Baby Cece experience them. The writers could try to make it lighter, but that would seem inappropriate under the circumstances.
Should CBS still make Young Sheldon Season 8 despite Georgie and Mandy's first marriage?
At this point, it's unlikely to happen
Georgie and Mandy's first wedding still far from success The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldonbut you are already on the right path. It debuts to strong ratings. Considering this, it's safe to say that it's only a matter of time before a renewal is granted. The second half of the first year is already confirmed with the return of the Coopers and other familiar characters, not to mention the hope of seeing Sheldon again. Therefore, CBS's chances of making Young Sheldon 8th season are very scarce.
