Apple TV+ has once again hit the jackpot with the hilarious comedy, Sakeand the series led by Maya Rudolph has been officially renewed for a 3rd season. Premiering in 2022, the show follows Molly Novak (Rudolph), a recent divorcee who must figure out what to do with the $87 billion settlement she won from her husband. Hoping to do some good, Novak gets involved with his charity and tries to rediscover his humanity. With a scathing satire on class in the 21st century, Sake I pushed all the right buttons, especially with Rudolph in the lead role.

When Sake debuted in 2022, it was met with largely positive praise from critics, scoring a respectable 83% on Rotten tomatoes. Most importantly, it secured a second season after a respectable debut and stands as one of Apple TV+'s best original shows. While SakeThe renewal came quickly, the second season suffered delays due to the Hollywood strikes in 2023 which caused its release to be pushed back to April 2024. However, this did not cause any lasting damage to the show as it has now been renewed. for a third season.

Sake was impacted by the writers' strike, and with the (original) premiere date missed for season 2 and the lack of an immediate renewal, there were fears that the show would not return. However, it was announced on July 16 (by Collider) that the comedy has been renewed, although there are still no details on the release date. It's unclear where the Apple TV+ comedy currently stands in its development timeline. However, with things changing before Season 2, it stands to reason that Apple will want Season 3 sooner rather than later.

Executive producer Danielle Renfrew Behrens offered her excited thoughts on the upcoming season, saying:

We are excited to be returning for a third season! We are so lucky to spend more time with our talented cast and crew. Making this show with Apple TV+ was a joy and we can't wait to reunite with our 'Loot' family.

Loot Season 2 Cast Details

Will Molly & The Rest Of The Wells Foundation Return In Season 3?

Danielle Renfrew Behrens' comments on “reuniting with our Loot family” suggest that most of the regular players from previous seasons will also return.

Show how Sake are engaging and hilarious because of their clever, satirical premise, but it's the characters' emotional journey that gives them long-term staying power. Happily, Sake is full of funny and heartfelt characters, all of whom are expected to return for season three. Leading the charge is the ultra-wealthy and still somewhat aloof Molly, who is played brilliantly by SNL former student Maya Rudolph. The rest of Molly's friends and staff are expected to return, which means the cast of Sake Season 3 will likely be similar to Season 2.

Of course, none of this has been officially confirmed yet, but the show simply couldn't exist without Rudolph and Danielle Renfrew Behrens' comments about “reuniting with our Loot family” suggest that most of the regular players from previous seasons will also return.

Loot Season 3 Story Details

How will Molly spend her fortune in season three?

Loot season 2 ended on a cliffhanger as Molly was last seen boarding her jet, and it's not really clear where she's going – or whether she's completely abandoning her project and her growing feelings for Arthur (Nat Faxon). Season two seemed, for a while, to be going well for Molly. However, as her Space for All project has begun to grow, she now faces threats from other billionaires who have no interest in seeing the status quo change.

This is likely to be a big part of the Season 3 plot, as Molly will have to figure out how to stand up against the community she's a part of.. No doubt the show will continue to do a great job of delving into the themes of wealth and power, and seeing wealth vs. wealth will make it even more interesting.

The season will have to start by answering the question of where Molly is going and whether she's simply on the run or if she's already planning her next move. She also, of course, I have to deal with the consequences of kissing Arthur (and getting caught doing it), which is more than enough personal drama to balance out the show's bigger ideas. No matter where you go, Sake season 3 has at least one more season to follow Molly on her journey.
