Cast, story and everything we know

The Netflix original series Beef has been a consistent success for the streamer, and a second season has been ordered with an all-new cast. The witty comedy-drama series follows main characters Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong) as a road rage incident spirals out of control and takes over their lives. Joining Netflix's many other big-budget shows, Beef presents a new concept that has the potential to generate a lot of laughs and, at the same time, accentuate its dramatic aspects.

Beef addresses the exaggerated drama of modern life and finds its humor in the escalation of pettiness to absolute extreme. As with most dark comedies, the basis of the plot serves only as a jumping off point for the scathing critique of society, and the jokes are multifaceted and new. Being a co-production with A24, the cinematic aspects of Beef were not neglected either, giving the program a high-quality feel that greatly helped drive demand for Beef season 2. Netflix has confirmed another season, but this time it will tell a new story.

Beef Season 2 Story Details

A new flesh is heating up

Amy holds a gun between her thighs in Beef

Although it has been teased in previous developments, it has been confirmed that Beef season two is taking the anthology approach and will chronicle wildly different characters who are locked in their own bitter, petty feuds. Changing from the story in season 1, the sophomore outing will follow a young couple who witness a brutal fight between their boss and his wife. This young couple will likely be played by Melton and Spaeny, while the boss and his wife are expected to be played by Isaac and Mulligan.

Taking things to a mean-spirited new level, the season will see the young couple use their knowledge of fighting to blackmail their way into the corridors of power. In this case, the proverbial saloons will be a swanky country club, and they use their social capital to get to the club's wealthy owner. Like the first season, Beef season two will likely continue to develop this idea and take things to ridiculous levels as each character becomes more and more desperate to win the fight.
