The Netflix original project has been in development since late 2023, but has now hired Philip Barantini to lead the film. The actor-turned-director isn’t really known for his feel-good films and is perhaps best remembered for his intense feature film, Boling Point. Now, Barantini reportedly hopes to take Enola Holmes 3 in a new directionsimilar to the way Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban took the franchise into young adult territory.
