Gray’s AnatomyAlex Carew’s actor, Justin Chambers, addresses whether he will return to the show after four years. Chambers left Gray’s Anatomy After 16 seasons of playing Alex Carew. In the series, Carew learned about the existence of his two children and decided to allow Gray Sloan and his wife Jo (Camilla Luddington) to reunite with his ex-wife Izzy (Katherine Heigl). His departure came as a shock to long-time fans of the show and also received a backlash.

Izzie’s choice over his current wife, life and friends also sounds out-of-character, but it begs the question of whether returning would really fix that.

Meredith would be furious with him, and Jo would be confused. Even if Alex were to return, he wouldn’t really be back. His exit is terrible enough, and let it be that it could not be the worst.
