Joe Pickett ended with Season 2

Joe Pickett is cancelled

Joe Pickett season 2 was much more brutal than even the first season. Since it was adapted into a book later in the series, the story was one where Joe was solidified in his place, but he still managed to make mistakes, and that hit hard in the second season. By the time the finale rolls around, Joe has a lot to answer for, and, to his credit, he faces his fears and admits to his shortcomings. Joe ends up teaming up with the Grimm Twins and fights the bad guys to save Marissa’s life.

It seems like Joe Pickett was setting up Johnny as a future antagonist.

However, there was a huge twist at the end. After the Grimms help Joe vacuum up the villains, they disappear without a trace. However, in the final scene of the finale, a legion of anti-government protesters show up on Main Street, shouting that they want “justice for the Grimms.” April’s mother, Jeannie Keeley (Leah Gibson), is among them before she mocks her daughter and marches on. It seems like Joe Pickett was setting up Johnny as a future antagonist.
