With over 30 million downloads to date, it goes without saying Pokémon TCG Pocket port on PC would go far. After all, the success of the mobile game made by DeNA & Creatures so far has just been due to its launch on Android and iOS platforms. With the huge player base on platforms like Steam, there’s no telling how much extra money the digital card game could generate.
While this is a great way to start Pokémon TCG Pocket’s next potential set, the franchise has no record for PC game launches. However, the franchise is still one of the biggest IPs in the world and the cost of development continues to rise. With this, you can never say never to Pokémon trying new things.
Pokémon TCGP isn’t on PC (yet)
At least not officially
There is currently no word on an official PC port to Pokémon TCG Pocket from DeNA or Creatures Inc. This means that many PC gamers still won’t be legitimately surprised by the game’s best full art cards on their larger monitors. However, players can technically play Pokémon TCG Pocket on PC through unofficial emulation means.
Making use of acquaintances emulators like BluestacksInterested Trainers can load the mobile game onto their systems. On the other hand, it is not recommended to do this as emulation carries its own risks. Even if it’s an emulator you’ve used before, running these digital copies of a game can cause crashes, viruses, and even cybersecurity hacks that can affect your personal data.
Could Pokémon TCG Pocket come to PC or change later?
One is more possible than the other
While Pokemon games have never been ported to PC before, it’s much more likely we could see a Nintendo Switch port of TCGP first. This is because, between Pokemon extensive library, there are at least a few titles that are now on mobile and Switch. This includes titles that are still fun to this day, like Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Café ReMixand Pokémon Mission.
These games started out with an initial release on Switch before later being ported to mobile devices, if not at the same time, but there’s no reason why we couldn’t see TCG Pocket do the opposite. A Nintendo Switch port could even see the addition of its missing social feature. As for PC, Creatures and the Pokémon Company could be convinced of a port if Pokémon TCG Pocket maintains its upward success, but it will take a lot more time and extra revenue to convince them first.
