Build-A-Bear adds fan-favorite Pokémon and is on sale now

Build-A-Bear is adding to its extensive line of Pokémon plushies featuring a fan-favorite Pokémon that’s sure to make hearts race, Riolu. Riolu is a Fighting-type Pokémon that eventually evolves into Lucario, the fan-favorite Fighting/Steel-type Pokémon. Riolu is known for his fighting spirit and his sensitivity to the auras of Pokémon and people. Riolu only evolves into Lucario when it has a high friendship with players from the main series games, making it a perfect candidate for a Build-A-Bear collaboration.

On November 13th, Build a Bear announced Riolu as the latest in its line of Pokémon plush. Currently, an online bundle on the Build-A-Bear website includes the Riolu plush, a hoodie made just for the Pokémon plush, and a five-in-one sound chip that includes Riolu’s voice. of Pokémon anime series. The bundle is currently on sale for $57 and is listed as an online exclusive. There is currently no information on whether the Riolu plush will arrive in Build-A-Bear stores.

The list of Build-A-Bears Pokémon continues

Build-A-Bear’s Pokémon line includes 20 different species

Build-A-Bear’s Pokémon line launched in 2015 and has grown into an extensive collection of giant Pokémon plush. While the line initially featured perennial favorites like Pikachu and Eevee, it has since grown to include Pokémon like Mimikyu, Cubone, and Dragonite. The line stands out from other Pokémon plushies, including a life-size 2022 Lucario plush thanks to the optional clothing selections that accompany each online package and the use of sound chips to give the Pokémon a real voice when its paw is squeezed.

In total, the Build-A-Bear line includes 20 different species of Pokémon. The Build-A-Bear website is currently running a huge sale, with almost every Pokémon plush available at a discount. Not every Pokémon plush is in stock, and both Riolu and the recently released Cubone plush are not included in the sale. However, the Build-A-Bear sale is still worth a look for anyone looking for the perfect gift for a young (or old) Pokémon fan. Shoppers can also go to a physical Build-A-Bear location, as they usually also have a limited selection of Pokémon plush, albeit without the sound chip and clothing.

Our opinion: is it worth adding to the collection?

Fun to hug, but hard to show off

Build-A-Bear is known for its high-quality plush toys and Pokémon line is no exception. However, plush toys tend to be a little more expensive than other stuffed animals. Pokémon plushies out there, and they have a limited selection compared to the Pokémon lines available at the Pokémon Center and elsewhere. Build-A-Bear plushies are also much larger than other Pokémon plushies out there, which means they’re not great for displaying on bookshelves, but they’re perfect for holding and hugging. My kids love their Build-A-Bear Pokémon plush, but there are definitely cheaper options for the cost-conscious Pokémon fans.
