While he may be best known for action, Bruce Willis He was an incredibly versatile actor. Unfortunately, health problems forced the actor into retirement, but Willis' career before that point was prolific. His role as John McClane in Die Hard was perhaps the most iconic, as it positioned the actor as the protagonist of the franchise. He has carried franchises over the years while also contributing his talent to other big action films such as Knight Detective and The Expendables.
Outside of Willis' action franchise, though, the actor could be extremely funny. His perfect casting as Butch Coolidge in pulp Fiction The ensemble helped prove this, as the actor plays a man of few words, but a lot of personality. He's also great in his role in the Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdomonce again showing his range. Perhaps his most notable comedy role was in the romantic comedy series Moonlightfor which he won an Emmy in 1987. One of Willis' most high-profile comedy roles saw him give a perfect audition.

THE Look who's talking the director talks about Willis' perfect audition for the role. This 1989 comedy focuses on a single woman who gives birth to a married man's child alone. In the process, she sees a new romantic opportunity in a taxi driver in a film narrated by the newborn baby, voiced by Willis. This quirky comedy was written and directed by Amy Heckerling. Talking to Empire MagazineHeckerling recalls Willis' audition. The director describes the arrival of Willis “to the editing room“to”see what [they] I wanted him to do“before he was cast. To prepare him, they showed him some footage of real babies. Willis responded by seeing the footage, doing”some abs“, and looking at the footage again before doing the improvisation. Heckerling thought his work was so funny that he hired him on the spotas she describes below:
bruce [Willis] came to the editing room [before he was cast]to see what we wanted him to do. We showed him all these pictures of babies and he said, 'Okay, I get it. He looked at the footage for a while, did some sit-ups, looked at the footage some more, and then started improvising these hilarious things. He was so brilliant. We made the deal right there.

Playing the voice of a newborn baby has to be one of Willis' most bizarre roles in his career. It does, however, show how creative and hilarious the actor can be. Even though his physical presence wasn't seen on screen, he managed to be funny while playing baby.
