Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood has officially launched, and the latest launch trailer shows off the brothers in all their platforming and puzzle-solving glory. Mario and Luigi are iconic characters in the gaming world as they have been around for ages. Today, fans can dive right into the world of Mario, as the brothers have been sucked into a fantasy realm and need the player’s help to escape.
The launch trailer shows Mario and Luigi facing various enemies, solving a multitude of puzzles and, of course, Luigi somehow ending up with his ass on fire. Although the trailer is quite short, only lasting about 45 seconds, it’s still a taste of what fans can expect from the latest addition to the franchise.
Mario and Luigi return as the most iconic dynamic duo
Two is better than one
The long-awaited title has fans ready to explore and enjoy everything it has to offer, as a recent Reddit post is full of fans already raving about the gameplay. MitruxLovesMusic states, “I’ve already played it for 1 hour and 20 minutes, let me tell you it’s an amazing game with colorful designs!” Others have not yet been able to experience the title, such as Zealot mentions that they must “survive this thing called work” before they can begin setting up platforms and defeating the threats that stand in the brothers’ way.
Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood takes players to the high seas, as the Uni-Tree has been destroyed, leaving the duo and players, of course, to try to bring the world back together. Using the character’s attacks and movements, players will be able to travel through different locations and use the power of “brotherhood” to overcome any obstacles that may stand in your way.
Our opinion: Mario games are simply exciting
Another addition is always welcomed by fans
Mario titles are known for several key things that set them apart from the rest of similar RPGs from that era, including the comedic approach to battles, Luigi seemingly always getting into trouble, and Brotherhood appears to follow suit with these key factors. The turn-based RPG gives fans a new way to experience the platforming expected of a Mario titlewhile also scratching the puzzle-solving itch of previous titles featuring the brothers.
Mario games are simply fun, not to mention the sense of nostalgia they bring to longtime fans of the franchise. Mario and Luigi: Brotherhood could potentially be the last big Nintendo Switch exclusive, and with the Switch 2 release date still in play, Switch users at least have something to pass the time while they wait for more news about Nintendo’s latest console.
