After Netflix released the Bridgerton season 4 cast list and Simone Ashley (who plays Kate) wasn’t on it, many were worried whether she would return, given that the series undoubtedly needs Kate. The good news is that Ashley will reprise her role as Kate in the Bridgerton Season 4, quelling fans’ fears. It’s not yet clear what role Kate will have in Benedict’s season. However, the hope is that Ashley’s character will have a significant presence in the upcoming Bridgerton episodes, given its importance to history.
Bridgerton season two introduced Kate as Anthony’s main love interest. But it took some time for the couple to get together. Anthony was engaged to Kate’s sister Edwina before she called off the wedding because of Anthony and Kate’s feelings for each other. At the end of the season, Kate officially became a Bridgerton wife on the TV show, joining Regé-Jean Page’s Simon. Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope also became a member of the group when she married Colin in series three, which featured much less Kate despite her importance to the series.
Kate is now an integral part of the Bridgerton family and story
Simone Ashley’s character is a fan favorite
After her introduction in Season 2, Kate became one of the Bridgertonone of the best characters and a fundamental member of the Bridgerton family. Kate is undoubtedly best known and associated with the Bridgertons than any other character who joined the series after the first season, and for good reason. She and Anthony make the perfect couple, and that’s because Kate gets along very well with his family. However, she is not afraid to stand her ground.
Kate’s continued significance and presence as one of the central protagonists Bridgerton Love interests provide the stability the Netflix series so desperately needs.
Kate is comfortable being part of the Bridgerton family chaos, but she also offers wise, solid advice to the other characters (and calls out Anthony when necessary). For example, Kate gives Colin great advice about his relationship with Penelope in the previous episode Bridgerton season 3 finale. In the future, all Bridgerton siblings and future spouses will need this kind of guidance, making Kate’s role in the Netflix series even more important.
Kate Provides Bridgerton Continuity After Simon Never Returned
Regé-Jean Page left Bridgerton after season 1
It was unfortunate when Bridgerton lost Regé-Jean Page, who played Simon, after the first season. Simon was the face of the first ten episodes of the series alongside Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne, meaning Page’s departure was quite underwhelming. The actor is not interested in returning. Then, Bridgerton I can’t trust Page, which undoubtedly carried the series in the 1st season. However, the good news is that Simone Ashley (the face of season 2) still wants to be part of the Bridgerton season 4 cast.

Kate’s continued significance and presence as one of the central protagonists Bridgerton love interests provide the stability that the Netflix series so desperately needs. She is not one of the Bridgerton brothers, but she is at the center of one of the series’ great romances, giving her importance. Consequently, Bridgerton needs Kate more than ever to balance the scales and cultivate a sense of continuity.
