Captain America Star Anthony Mackie, Red Hulk Actor Harrison Ford, and Marvel Studios Executive Nate Moore Explain Why the MCU Captain America: Brave New World changed its original title. Around the time Marvel Studios revealed its plans for the Multiverse Saga, Phase 5 Captain America 4 was subtitled “Captain America: New World Order”. None of Captain America: Brave New WorldThe villains have been revealed, but the sequel's first title already hinted at its political themes.

Talking to EmpireMarvel Studios exec Nate Moore addresses Captain America: Brave New Worldoriginal caption. According to Moore, Marvel was never intended to represent real-world issues. Instead of, “New World Order” simply referred to the in-universe conflict Captain America finds himself in when Harrison Ford's US President Ross becomes involved in a fictional conspiracy. Harrison Ford also comments, joking that no real-life president has turned into the Hulk yet. Read the Captain America: Brave New World team comments below:

Nate Moore: “I think New World Order” was a title that we thought was really interesting, and kind of moody and scary. And to be honest, some of the feedback we got, internally and externally, was that this phrase, unfortunately, had been co-opted into the real world in a way that made people uncomfortable. We never try to tell stories that seem ripped from the headlines. Fiction and nonfiction align in unexpected and unintended ways.”

Harrison Ford: “Any resemblance to U.S. presidents, living or dead, is entirely coincidental, in other words. Until now, we have not had a president who could transform into a Hulk. We have not faced these kinds of circumstances in our political lives, although we've had enough of a glimpse into political life to realize that we could actually end up in a political Marvel movie. But that's not what this is about a man trying to deal with his own temper, with his own circumstances. “

Captain America star Anthony Mackie also clarifies that Captain America: Brave New WorldThe reshoots did not change the film's plot in any significant way. Mackie remembers participating in similar reshoot processes for all of the previous MCU projects he was a part of. Mackie states:

“It's not reshot. Every Marvel movie I've done has been reshot, so it's not reshot or reshot. You basically take the movie and the story you want, edit them together, then go back and shoot a few more scenes.”
