Daredevil: Born Again star Vincent D’Onofrio recently opened up about the series’ massive creative overhaul. The series planned to bring back D’Onofrio and his Netlfix co-star RecklessCharlie Cox from the beginning, but the original vision was scrapped by Marvel, with the studio firing the writing and directing teams. At New York Comic Con, D’Onofrio had this to say about the change:

When we finally figured out how to do this show, it was really exciting and really playing it the way Charlie and I always wanted to do it. Many of us involved in the first iteration were really yearning for a better way, and it worked.

Following Charlie Cox’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdock his first gig set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again, consisting of 18 episodes, serves as a spiritual successor to Netflix’s three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU’s main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero lawyer.
