What happened in Blue Lock Season 2, Episode 7?
The first goal of the under-20 match was scored by the phenomenal Sae Itoshi, from the Japanese national team.
Episode 7 started right in the middle of the action, picking up the U20 match where episode 6 left off. At this point, no goals had been scored yet, but that would soon change as the episode progressed. The Japanese players such as Sae Itoshi, Oliver Aiku and Sendo Shuto showed their immense skill by stopping the Blue Lock player’s attempts to score on every play. Just when it looked like Blue Lock would score thanks to a clever collaboration between Bachira and Isagi, Oliver Aiku foiled their plans at the last second, cementing his status as Isagi’s nemesis this season.
The Japanese team regained control of the ball, but no one managed to score until Sae scored an unexpected goal from the side of the net. The spectators burst into applause and praise, cheering for the Japanese team and specifically for Sae, now the star of the game. The Isagi and Blue Lock players were heartbroken and disheartened to hear the public’s unwavering support for Sae and the Japanese team because they felt they would never earn the same respect and praise. Ego was not in the least discouraged, urging the doubtful Anri Teieri, the Blue Lock manager, to “have faith in them”.
Rin has shown growth and teamwork, while his brother, Sae, has revealed opposite qualities.
Ego’s faith was not misplaced, as Blue Lock overcame and finally scored his own goal
Sae Itoshi may be exceptionally talented, but episode 7 shed light on his cruel personality. He loudly berated his teammates in front of everyone and called them names. Although Sae has all the fame and skill in the world, his arrogance makes him difficult to work with. After Sae’s goal, Rin comforted Isagi and the others, promising to try harder to win and defeat his older brother once and for all. Rin and Isagi worked together, bonding in a beautiful moment of teamwork despite their previous rivalries and arguments and Rin’s tendency to refuse to work with others.
The final scenes of episode 7 revealed why fans are tuning in like this Blue Lock best episode of the second season, putting an unlikely hero in the spotlight, Nagi Seishiro. Nagi was surrounded by Haru Hayate and Itsuki Wakatsuki, but managed to do a lift tap and then a jump, scoring the first point for Blue Lock. After Nagi scored, both teams and all of Japan fell silent, before erupting into loud exclamations of shock and joy at their unexpected success. This scene introduced Nagi to Japan, as he declared “Nice to meet you, Japan. I’m Nagi Seishiro!”
Nagi Seishiro scored his own goal, tying the score
Who will win is now uncertain, further increasing the stakes for the U20 match
Nagi’s extraordinary goal was not only a personal achievement, but it changed the public perception of Blue Lock as a team. Now, it is not clear who will win the match, and the Japanese team has realized that their opponent will not be as easy to beat as they previously believed. Nagi’s score made everyone invest more in the match and intrigued to see what the outcome will be, while also letting his teammates know that not all hope is lost yet. Blue Lock Episode 8 will continue this tight game as the teams are now tied at 1-1.
