Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 16 Reagan Family Dinner Exposes Why It’s So Disappointing

Notice! SPOILERS ahead for Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 16, ‘Gray Areas’.The conversation at the Reagan family dinner in Blue Blood Season 14 Episode 16, titled “Gray Areas,” explains why this episode is disappointing. Blue Blood‘The news of the cancellation means that “Gray Areas” is the penultimate episode of the series. It presents several stories, but the the most memorable is Frank’s last battle with Mayor Chasewho wants the governor to send the National Guard to New York City to help reduce crime. Frank thinks it’s a bad idea that hurts the NYPD, but he’s having trouble getting the mayor to back down.

During the Blue Blood family dinner scene, everyone discusses the week and the children encourage Frank to find a solution to the problem posed by the mayor’s proposal. The whole scenario is similar to that of many Blue Blood‘best episodes. However, neither this story nor any others plant many seeds for the ending, so the audience is left as much in the dark about what will happen as they were before watching “Grey Areas.”

The Reagans say their week was uneventful on Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 16

They are certain that nothing special happened

The Reagan family has dinner at Blue Blood they often include lively conversations about what’s happening in each character’s storyline. However, in “Grey Areas”, no one has much to say about the week, claiming it was uneventful, and the conversation eventually focuses mainly on Frank and his plot. This comment is surprising, considering that as much happened to each Reagan during this episode as during any other. However, for the most part, everyone’s cases were similar to problems they had dealt with before, so there wasn’t much to say.

Danny and Baez were investigating the murder of an MMA fighter while Erin was trying to find out if a famous law student who had been arrested for drug trafficking was guilty, but there was nothing unusual about these cases. The only one worth talking about was Jamie and Eddie’s efforts to protect Badillo from the consequences of smoking marijuana. at a charity event. It would have been interesting to hear all of the Reagans’ perspectives on this issue, but unfortunately there wasn’t much discussion on the subject.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 16 Really Looks Dull

It was a solid episode, but nothing more

This would have been an average episode overall. However, “Gray Areas” was the penultimate episode of the entire series, and these last few episodes are meant to be used to set up the series finale. There was little to no movement on any plot other than Frank’s final mission to save Mayor Chase, and even that was subtle. It’s especially disappointing that there was no mention of Jamie and Eddie’s plans to start a familyas they could have questioned their decision upon learning that Badillo is trying to help his deceased partner’s son.

The fact that Jamie and Eddie’s family planning decision hasn’t been mentioned since Blue Blood season 14, episode 11 suggests that the series will return to conducting business as normal until the last few minutes of the final episode.

Blue Blood made a similar mistake with Jamie and Eddie’s wedding in season 9, as the big event only occurred in the last few minutes of a normal episode, disappointing fans who were excited about the relationship’s development. The fact that Jamie and Eddie’s family planning decision hasn’t been mentioned since Blue Blood season 14, episode 11 suggests that the series will return to conducting business as normal until the last few minutes of the final episode.

What else needs to happen before Blue Bloods ends

Several stories need to be closed

There are now only two episodes of Blue Blood left, which means the series will have to work hard to wrap up several arcs. So far, little is known about what will happen in the finale, but it has been confirmed that Jack and Nicky are returning. Jamie and Eddie’s family planning story will likely result in pregnancy in the series finale, and the police procedural also needs to bring Erin and Jack back together, as well as allow Blue Blood’ Danny and Baez admit their feelings for each other.

With so little time left and so much to do, Blue Blood can’t afford another episode that doesn’t make significant moves to end the series.

Blue Blood should end with the whole family working on a case, probably related to Mayor Chase, as Frank will go on one last mission to save him. Hopefully this story will pick up during the penultimate episode, rather than the series offering another run-of-the-mill episode between “Grey Areas” and the series finale. With so little time left and so much to do, Blue Blood can’t afford another episode that doesn’t make significant moves to end the series.

A police procedural set in New York City, Blue Bloods follows the lives of the Irish-American Reagan family, who have a strong family history and current powerful roles in the New York Police Department.
