What are the returns of Blue Bloods season 14
A common thread continues
Loughlin is among the familiar faces to guest star Blue Bloodhaving last appeared in 2016. When viewers met the character, in the premiere of season 7, Grace was already a widow. And, motivated by this loss, she begged Frank not to let her son Louis (David Castro) join the force. Frank shows sympathy for Grace’s fear of losing her son, but denies the request. She then responds angrily and the two break up badly. Interestingly, Now Frank has something to ask Grace.
As for Patten, a Tony-winning performer for her role in the Broadway musical Small lumpy pillshe has a much longer history with the CBS series, making a total of more than a dozen appearances over six seasons. Patten’s character, Officer Witten, first appeared in season 8 and was last seen in season 13.
The episode, written by Nicole Abraham and Jack Ciapciak and directed by Ralph Hemecker, seeks to pull a common thread that Blue Blood explored where recurring and guest characters are brought in to serve as a mirror to the central Reagan family and confront them when necessary. The resolution for Grace and Rachel, who may have broken some rules to help a person in need, may not be simple and may not paint Frank and Eddie in a favorable light. But it is necessary.
