Best Cards for a Mythic Island Water-Type Deck
Three powerful water-type cards will make your opponent's job easier
There are three main cards to this deck, with the first being one of the best Mythical Island cards, Vaporeon. This card has an impressive ability called “To wash”, which allows you to move Water Energy from one of your benched Pokémon to the Active Pokémon. This will make your strategy much faster and more aggressive. Along with that, you can use Vaporeon’s attack,”wave splash.” This deals 60 damage, costing three energy, one water, and two colorless energy. With 120 HP and its powerful pre-evolution Eevee, this card is a no-brainer for any Water-type deck.
Other Mythical Island The Pokémon that deserves to be highlighted is the former Gyarados. This card requires effective strategy, so the deck was designed to synergize perfectly, ensuring this tank-like card is used to its full potential. Attack from Gyarados’ ex,”Furious whirlwind”, deals a massive 140 damage. The attack will also drop a random Energy from among the Energy attached to all Pokémon – it can be yours or your opponents'. Combine that with his 180 HP and you have a formidable attacker on your hands.
Fan cards are important. Use Misty for energy boosts and Professor Research to draw crucial cards. The Leaf supporter card helps reduce withdrawal cost and exchange active Pokémon for optimal configurations.
Finally, TCG PocketStarmie's ex will be doing most of your damagepossessing a strong attack for a cheap energy cost. “Hydro splash” will hit your opponent for 90 damage and only two water energy. This is extremely fast, especially considering that the Vaporeon can help move the energy. This damage can be dealt even faster if Misty is used. Combined, these three cards make the strategy multifaceted, having different opportunities for attacks with different costs.
How to win using a Mythical Island Water-type deck
This deck is simple to set up and incredibly quick to start dealing damage
The ideal start for this deck includes getting Eevee into starting position on the first turn. This gives you time to bench Staryu and Magikarp and start their evolution lines. Eevee has an interesting attack that lets you throw coins to deal damage, using a similar mechanic to the Misty supporter card. This means you can potentially eliminate a card in the early stages of the battle. From here, you should start evolving your cards from the first stagelike Starmie ex and Gyarados ex.
Then you can use the Misty supporter card on ex Starmie or ex Gyarados. This, depending on the luck of the coin toss, should enhance your attacks. The Professor's Research will help you lure Misty for another turn. This works best when attached to Gyarados exbut that choice depends on which Stage 1 cards you draw for your hand. The Leaf supporter card can swap Active Pokémon reducing the Retreat Cost by two, making it ideal for swapping Eevee or Vaporeon for the ex-charged card.

If you're unlucky and Misty doesn't produce energy for her ex-cards, you can still have faith in properly preparing for strong attacks. Starmie ex only requires two water energy to administer “Hydro splash”, meaning it had to be set up during the time Vaporeon occupied the Active Spot. Now you can exchange these cards, use “To wash” to put energy into ex Gyarados or ex Starmie and earn your Pokémon TCG Pocket battle.
