However Zenless Zero Zone is in the midst of an Anomaly DPS meta, Harumasa brings a combo-focused playstyle that works well if built correctly. Unfortunately, attack units fell a bit by the wayside in ZZZ. While he can still clear the contents, the recent influx of Anomaly units that work seamlessly together has propelled him to the top. Although he is a free agent, Harumasa also had the misfortune of being cast alongside Miyabi, who was highly anticipated and possibly the strongest character in the game.
Harumasa is a critically focused unit that revolves around his enhanced dash attack. When using your fifth basic attack, EX Special, or when a teammate activates an Anomaly, six Electro Quiver orbs will appear on the field. When using his ranged attack, Harumasa can cause these orbs to lock onto an enemy and mark them, stacking up to eight times. This marked enemy will then put Harumasa's attack into its special state, where he attacks with his swords and consumes two stacks with each attack to increase his damage and stun.
Best W engine for Harumasa
Many options
As with all characters, Harumasa's best engine is his signature Zanshin Herb Case. Basically, this mechanic gives you a 10% critical rate for free and another 10% for 15 seconds after any party member stuns an enemy or activates an anomaly. It also deals 48% more critical damage when leveled to 60. Finally, it increases the electrical damage of dash attacks by 40%.
The second best engine option for Harumasa is Soldier 11's signature The Brimstone, one of Zenless Zero Zonethe best W-Engines. This is a simple engine, but it provides all the buffs Harumasa needs. At level 60, it will give an extra 30% attack, with an additional increase of up to 27% when landing basic attacks, dodging or attacking.. This mechanic does not offer the same level of specific buffs and ease as the signature, but can work with minimal difference if Harumsa is built correctly.
For 4-star options, although it is something easy to obtain while the Starlight Engine works, the new Marcato Desire 1.4 event engine is the best free-to-play option. This option gives you a 20% increase in critical rate at level 60, which is a plus for a 4-star. To compensate for this, the attack buff granted when using a Special EX or Chain Attack is capped at 9.6% at S5, with an additional 9.6% if the target has an Anomaly. However, since this is an event engine, it should be easy to reach this maximum level.
Best drive disks for Harumasa
Sticking to Simple Options
Although two new sets were released during version 1.4, Harumasa does not use either of them directly. Instead of, he uses the Thunder Metal set to increase electrical damage by two pieces and a large attack increase by four pieces when any enemy is shocked. This condition makes it relatively easy to keep up with a Stunner and even easier when using an Anomaly character.
The second best set is the Woodpecker Electro. This set has become the standard for DPS units due to its useful critical rate boost, and attack increases when it lands a critical hit. Overall, this set has minimal, if any, loss, making it an ideal choice if players have leftover discs. This set can also be used as two extra pieces for Thunder Metal or vice versa with Thunder Metal for a full Wooderpecker Electro.
If built with the right engine, the best main stats for Discs 4, 5, and 6 are critical damage, electrical damage, and attack %. The substats will be the standard ones that Attack characters look for: critical damage, critical rate, and attack %. After that, getting a more uniform Attack or Penetration will help round out your stats.

Best teams for Harumasa
Limited but viable
Although he has many Anomaly character buffs, his best team is the classic combo with a stun and a support unit. In this case, Qingyi and Rina form their best team. This is due to the incredible amount of shock he can deliver and the huge stun buffs from Qingyi and his best builds. A replacement for Qinyi that will work, but with fewer buffs to Harumasa, is Anby.
If someone wants to use an Anomaly character, the best options would be Burnice or Grace. Burnice is the best Anomaly character off the field and works well with Harumasa. It appears and inflicts burn on the enemy, which can then be turned off until it needs to be reapplied. Grace is similar, but requires a little more field time. However, its electrical damage may work better with the specific ways Harumasa is built. This team may not be as fast as your premium team, but it may be more fun/flexible.
Harumasa is a character who will certainly seek help in the future. While his premium team isn't bad, it's not as good as what he wants to play. He would also benefit greatly from an Electro character who could be like Burnice, do a lot of Anomaly damage, and stay off the field..
The best Bangboo options are Plugboo or Electroboo, especially with multiple electric units.
Despite its lack of popularity with Attack units, Harumasa launches in a strong state, mainly because it is a free unit. The options available make it relatively easy for him to build, but he will still have some complications once he reaches critical limits. His free-to-play teams aren't as strong as other characters, but they still allow him to show his potential. Overall, for a free agent, Harumasa and his best builds are an incredible addition to the Zenless Zero Zone.
