FuturamaBender and Adventure TimeJake's is mixed into a new piece of character crossover art by John DiMaggio. Futurama precedes Adventure Time for about 11 years, debuting in 1999 and following pizza delivery man Philip J. Fry (Billy West), with DiMaggio's Bender, a foul-mouthed robot, playing a major role in almost every episode. Adventure Timeon the other hand, it only premiered in 2010, with that animated comedy following a 12-year-old boy on various adventures with his wise dog, Jake.
@bornreadydesigns on Instagram now matches Bender's Futurama and Jake from Adventure Time on a character. The artwork features key aspects of Bender, including the metallic coating and joint design, with a sharp, dog-like face. The image caption jokes that this new hybrid character could be called "Bend the dog" or "Jake the robot." Check out the art below:
What Futurama/Adventure Time art means to John DiMaggio
The voice actor stars in two beloved shows
It's often harder for voice actors to become as well-known as those who work in front of the camera, just because the public never sees their faces. DiMaggio, however, has become one of the top performers in the voice acting space, especially when it comes to comedy.

With Futurama Season 13 on the horizon, the show remains as popular as ever. It has also been generally well received by critics, as with Adventure Time. As can be seen in the graph above, both animated comedies struck a chord with audiencesand the voice performances were and are the main reasons for this. Bender and DiMaggio's Jake are pivotal characters in their respective shows, and the ongoing love for Futurama and Adventure Time talks about his power as a voice actor.
Our Take on Futurama and Adventure Time Crossover Art
Could a crossover actually happen?
It seems unlikely that a crossover like the one shown in the image will actually make it to the screen. Futurama now airs its new episodes on Hulu and Adventure time was a Cartoon Network series. Rights issues would likely preclude any kind of official crossing.
Even though the two properties cannot intersect, they are both set to return. In addition to two new seasons of Futuramait has been confirmed that Cartoon Network Studios is bringing back Adventure Time in the form of a new film and two new TV shows. It's unclear whether DiMaggio will reprise his role as Jake, but it's certainly hard to imagine any show happening without him.
