What the VOD success of Beetlejuice means for the film

Will there be a Beetlejuice 3?

Burton S Beetlejuice Sequel was made on an estimated budget of about $100 million. At this price point, The film is likely looking at a break-even point of between $200 million and $250 millionBoth are clearly exceeded. The fact that the film is now also a VOD success as it continues to play in theaters speaks to the enduring appeal of Burton’s fantastical world and Keaton’s chaotic lead character.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is also well received and has a respectable 77% on Rotten tomatoes from critics and 80% from audiences. The original, by contrast, features 83% and 82% respectively. Beetlejuice BeetlejuiceThe impressive cast is certainly part of the film’s appeal, but the quality of the story and performances give the film a long run in theaters and at home. The fact that both films in Burton’s franchise are charting suggests there would be audience interest in a third installmentAnd Warner Bros. is probably also keen on expanding the franchise.

Our VOD success of Beetlejuice 2

Should this sequel be the end of the franchise?

It is not surprising that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a hit on VOD, but it’s notable that it dethroned Deadpool & Wolverinewhich earned a whopping 1.335 billion dollars. Although the MCU film came out more than a month before Burton’s film in theaters, it was only available on VOD on October 1, about a week earlier.

Burton and Keaton have evidently created a world and a character that appeals to audiences, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice‘s success both in theaters and on VOD means that Warner Bros. Any film made without Burton, however, would certainly not be the same, and Perhaps it is best that the latest sequel serves as the conclusion to Betelgeuse’s story.
