An unsolved mystery of its predecessor has resurfaced in Beetle juice Beetle juice, and once again, no answer was apparent. Bioexorcist Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) reprises his favorite role of haunting Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder). Only now she herself is the mother of anguished teenager Astrid (Jenna Ortega). Their deaths have been in the air for the last 36 years, until Beetlejuice 2 confirmed that this original character survived. Following the logic of Beetlejuice 2 revealing Maxie Dean’s fate, it could take until Beetlejuice 3 to find out if the 20-somethings also survived.

The joke’s on him when Betelgeuse kidnaps the nuptials and the bride for himself. He also has all the social media stars swallowed by their own phones. Following the logic of Beetlejuice 2 revealing Maxie Dean’s fate, it could take until Beetlejuice 3 to find out if the 20-somethings also survived.

Only Barbara and Adam died in the first film

Despite all the gothic chaos in the first Beetle juice film, only Barbara and Adam (the ghosts that haunt Deetz) actually die. The death toll rose dramatically in the sequel, starting with Charles’ death in the opening. His wife follows him shortly after when a poisonous snake bites her. Even characters who were already dead were killed. Danny Devito made a cameo as a janitor in Nemworld, who had his soul sucked out by the demonic Delores (Monica Bellucci).
