A new piece of Star Wars Art pays tribute to the late James Earl Jones And some of the other legends of the franchise. James Earl Jones died on September 9 at the age of 93. Jones is perhaps best known for providing the voice of Darth Vader in the original trilogy of Star Wars movies, and for several other stories later in the franchise’s history. The mark that James Earl Jones and Darth Vader left on the Star Wars Timeline cannot be quantified, and his death is a true tragedy. Jones’ passing has also inspired some Star Wars Fans to memorialize him, sometimes through art.
Now, digital artist Gail__ has created a piece of art that imagines Jones with several others Star Wars Icons that have died.
James Earl Jones joins a host of legends Star Wars Actors including Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Sir Christopher Lee (Count Dooku), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Peter Cushing (Governor Tarkin), Carl Wethers (Griff Cargo), and Ray Stevenson (Baylon School). It also reunites Jones with two of the other actors who originally brought Darth Vader to life: David Prowse, the actor in the suit, and Sebastian Shaw, who played Vader when he was unmasked in Return of the Jedi. The artwork is a tribute to not only James Earl Jones, but all the actors who have passed on.
