Batman has had more than enough experience investigating asylums, the Joker’s traps, and even the Riddler’s torturous puzzles – but he’s never been at the mercy of that kind of Mountain range-like torture. In a new cover, the Caped Crusader faces a killer unlike any other in comics. It’s often said that Batman can defeat any villain given enough preparation time, but how prepared he would be against Jigsaw is anyone’s guess for any comic book fan.
As revealed in DC’s February solicitations, at the end of the “We Are Wounded” arc in Batman: Dark Patterns #3 by Dan Watters and Hayden Sherman, Batman is on the case of the killer known as the Wounded Man. Unfortunately, it appears he has gone from being the world’s greatest detective to one of Gotham’s newest victims.

No wonder Batman is at odds with your own version of Jigsaw with the Wound Man. Batman is known for his villains, and over the years, the Joker has become the Dark Knight’s main torturous foil. However, even in recent decades, the introduction of the villain Professor Pyg, created by Grant Morrison, Andy Kubert and Frank Quitely, pushed Batman out of the world of superheroes and into the world of serial killers. But nowhere before has this level of Riddler’s brilliance coincided with the barbaric mutilation of Victor Zsasz.
