Batman 2’s Newest Story Details Could Solve My Bruce Wayne Movie Problem

Batman – Part II could solve my one problem with Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, and the first details revealed from the DC film have me hopeful that it will. First of all, I think Pattinson is one of the best live-action Batman actors. He managed to do his version of the Batman complex, and the performance the star gave with just his eyes in the Batsuit is unparalleled when it comes to previous Batman actors. Pattinson is set to return for two future DC films as director Matt Reeves has plans for a trilogy for Batman.

While Batman – Part IIThe cast has only a few stars confirmed at this point, the film was put together by HBO The penguin. The spinoff series showed Oz Cobb’s rise to powerwhich places the character not only as the crime boss in Gotham City, but also teases that Oz will have more presence at meetings of high-ranking politicians and Gotham’s elite. This could lead to him crossing paths with Pattinson as Batman and Bruce Wayne, and the latter could soon change to be what I want to see from the character.

Robert Pattinson’s Batman was great, but his Bruce Wayne still needs to change

Batman didn’t feature the classic Bruce Wayne

Robert Pattinson gave a great performance as Bruce Wayne and Batman in Matt Reeves’ Batman. However, the film chose to go a different route with its version of Bruce than the one the character is best known for. Instead of being his usual careless playboy in public, Pattinson’s Bruce was always brooding like his Batman. It made sense for the film’s approach to the character, since Batman focused on Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne at the beginning of his Batman career. After all, Batman referred to himself as “Revenge,” so Bruce was in a dark place.

While I understand why Bruce Wayne wasn’t the classic in BatmanI want to see this change in the sequel. I would agree with Batmanis ending. After saving a group of Gotham City citizens, including Mayor Bella Reál, we saw Batman stop being a symbol of revenge and become a symbol of hope. This could lead to Bruce Wayne doesn’t get that angry all the time Batman – Part II. I want to see if Pattinson can become the best live-action Batman actor, and a classic Bruce is needed to measure that.

Matt Reeves revealed an important detail about Batman Part II

The director teases Bruce Wayne’s story in the sequel

Batman – Part II has been pushed back to 2026, due to Hollywood strikes in 2023. As such, few details have been revealed about which characters will appear in the film or the story of Pattinson’s second Batman outing. Director Matt Reeves himself may not have all the details yet, as DC Studios co-CEO james gunn recently took to Threads to reveal that the roadmap for Batman – Part II not finished yet. Still, some key parts of Bruce Wayne’s next adventure are set in stone, as Matt Reeves has revealed the first Batman – Part II details.

Talking to Digital Spy, Matt Reeves teased that Bruce Wayne will find him “very difficult to be Batman” in Batman – Part II. The director did not share additional details. I think there are two possible interpretations of what Reeves said. One is that Bruce’s guilt over the Riddler being able to flood Gotham in Batman makes the character appear less like Batman in the sequel, with Bruce Wayne being used more. Another interpretation is that Bruce is just encountering more trouble as Batman in the sequel, perhaps due to new threats.

The Batman Sequel Could Make Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne Fulfill His Potential

Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne Looks Down in The Batman

I think both interpretations bode well for what I want to see from Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne in Batman – Part II. If it’s difficult for Bruce to be Batman in the sequel, either because he feels guilty and wants to try a different approach, or because he faces problems as Batman that Bruce Wayne wouldn’t have to face, then I believe we could have a classic Bruce Wayne in the sequel. The character’s billionaire playboy side needs to be revealed, allowing Pattinson’s Dark Knight to balance both facets of the iconic DC hero.

There are certain situations that call for Batman’s straightforward way of dealing with things, while others suit a more restrained approach with Bruce Wayne’s people skills.

Although I loved Pattinson’s Batman in Batman, his Dark Knight and Bruce Wayne acted the same way. I want to see the hero’s two personas look totally different in the sequel, as there are certain situations that call for Batman’s straightforward way of dealing with things, while others lend themselves to a more restrained approach with Bruce Wayne’s personal skills. With Oz Cobb now having power in Gotham and other villains likely to emerge in the sequel, I think both sides of the character will be needed, and Batman – Part IIEarly details make me confident that a classic Bruce is coming.

The Batman Part II is the sequel to Matt Reeve’s The Batman, released in 2022, and will pick up where the original film left off. The film shares a universe with HBO Max’s original Penguin series and sees the return of the Riddler and a different incarnation of the Joker.
