Baldur’s Gate 3 just got a big update for professional PlayStation 5 players

Baldur’s Gate 3 It’s already an impressive game, but Larian Studios is making everything even more beautiful with a specific update for the PlayStation 5 Pro. With the launch of Sony’s updated console, gamers should expect a brief influx of patches designed to enhance PS5 games, allowing them to make the most of the Pro’s beefier specs. Baldur’s Gate 3 has arrived at the right time with its announcement, as the PS5 Pro is now available for purchase so consumers can use the massive RPG to test out their new device.

Revealed in a post on the official website Baldur’s Gate 3 blog, Larian Studio confirmed that the game has been updated for the PS5 Pro to provide players with new graphical improvements. Some of the improvements include Quality Mode now running in native 4K at 30fps and the performance mode increasing from 1440p to 2160p at 60fps. thanks to the power of the PSSR. Multiplayer should also be much smoother, as split-screen on the PS5 Pro can now offer 30fps or 60fps, depending on whether users have the game set to Quality or Performance mode.

Baldur’s Gate 3 never looked so good

But is this worth a PS5 Pro?

Improving graphics options for Baldur’s Gate 3 It’s a great gift for enthusiasts who bought the console, but it’s not enough to justify the purchase. Many fans have questioned the need for a PS5 Pro when its technical performance is only slightly better than that of the base PlayStation 5. Given the exorbitant price of the upgrade, consumers largely feel that the product is not worth the money spentespecially when the improvements will be difficult for many to see with the naked eye.

That being said, It’s good to know that developers are embracing the new hardware for what it is. It seems unlikely that the PS5 Pro upgrade to Baldur’s Gate 3 will convince anyone to purchase the console, but it’s still nice to have it as an option. In fact, the upgrade to split-screen multiplayer could actually be a huge improvement, given the mode’s occasionally shaky performance in denser areas.

Larian’s commitment to his fans is fantastic

The existence of a PS5 Pro patch is a great precedent

The fact that Larian Studios is still releasing significant updates for Baldur’s Gate 3 a year after its 1.0 release is a testament to the developer’s passion. It could have been easy to just ignore the PS5 Pro launch, but Instead, Larian took the opportunity to make his already beautiful game look even better. I hope more studios follow suit, but with the industry being the way it is, that may not be the case.
